Use behaviors? There isn't a way to do it in actors only?
How would I create the ring? I want to make the rainbow archon a hero in my map and I want him to have an ability where it turns on and off and he gets chain lightning. Then I want to use the ring. But I don't know how to create the ring or where to start.
The ring is easy all it is is several Site actors that are attached to Site (Mover) actors. The ability has a Create Persistent that has offsets relative to the caster that order the movers to move towards the newest point (like the colossus attack). As for the rainbow lazers you could use behaviours and validators but probably just using several named timers and the set tint color actor events is enough. On actor creation several master timers are set which when they expire cause the colour change and set a periodic timer with a fixed duration for repeating a colour which then repeats the cycle.
I know this post is quite old, but I'm doing at the moemnt the Rainbow Archon, no need of behaviors, just Events. I've got the Archon, the attack and the Wave, ony takes the ring. I'm trying purely with data.
Has anyone replicated the way the attack is the same color as the archon and the chain lightning being a different color? As well as the ring?
Think so but it was not as good as blizzard's. Was done by having several timers and Set Tint Colors.

Still advise a behaviour for the ring unless you fell you must use a persistent on the caster.
