Ok so my projectile worked just fine launching, hitting etc with its green splatter but I switched all the effects and behaviors and actors to a new Unit - projectile and mover and now it shoots and still hits units and ground just fine but with no impact splat effect. Not sure what other information is required but I have no idea how to really work around issues in the data editor as I am still learning its complexities.
Thoughts?

The impact effect on weapons doesn't do anything mechanical - it's purely for actors. It sounds like you need to update your "action" actor to match the new weapon/effect.
If you didn't use an action, we'd have to see how your data is set up. Screenshots or a copy of the map would help.
You sent me the map but didn't tell me which effect you're having trouble with. I don't know what to look at. How can I reproduce your problem, and what is your intended behavior?
You also didn't send any triggers, and it seems like the map uses a non-RTS control scheme.
yes, I re PM'd you, been an off night, and it does use a non RTS scheme, I built my own TPS Traceline shooter, essentially the map is a 3rd Person Shooter Paintballing map. I will have the new file to you soon with a clearer explanation on where to look. sorry bout that.

PMing map file, I can work triggers like no ones business, but i have avoided learning the Data Editor for as long as I could lol.

Sounds like one of your actor events is linking to the wrong effect either on the splatter model or the action actor.

I added my own triggers, and I don't see the problem you're having. Nova's attack makes a splat on the ground.
