So I've currently got 2 buttons to research either Lurker or Impaler upgrades. These work fine.
I've got 2 buttons that morph the Hydra Den into an Impaler or Lurker Den. These work fine.
What I'd like to do is somehow combine them. So that when the Lurker or Impaler upgrade is researched the Hydra Den will automatically morph into relevant Den type. I'd also like this to apply to any future built Hydralisk Dens.
I'm assuming this is done with validators somehow? Because I can't find any way to complete an 'upgrade\research' on a morph ability, or a morph ability on a research command.
So if I give the Hydralisk Den the morph ability "Upgrade to Impaler Den"
Set these settings. (The behaviour just has the requirement upgrade listed)
That should be all I need? Will test it later and see. Do I need to have a 'button' for an auto-cast ability to work?
Second solution if u prefer data only.
Button need only if you give players operate with skills manually, autocast can work without button but need initialize first and it can be turned off only via validators or triggers.
You could give the Hydra Den a behaviour that periodically runs an effect that validates to see if either upgrade is researched and if so orders the Hydra Den to morph then removes the buff.

Trigger which use ability morph when upgrade complete can be ellegant solution.
If u want with data then set to autocast morph with validator cheking upgrade

I'm trying to replicate the way the Terran Tech Reactor applies itself to Reactors and Tech Labs.
So I'll see how I go down that angle. If that becomes too hard, I'll try what you've suggested :)
