I just don't understand this. To me, this is saying, if your target unit is within range ten of the caster, then fail for target is too close. This is a base ability that the game has, so that can't be right, because in melee I don't remember the ghost having a min range to use snipe, let alone be that of ten.
I tried changing the value to different amounts and even changing the type to greater then and it has no effect.
How can I add a min range of use on the snipe ability?
Seems to work fine for me, are you sure you're adding the validator to the right place? You can't actually add validators to abilities aside from auto cast validators (that work like "it won't autocast on units that don't have the proper validators"), you have to add it to the effect. Either way, here's a map of it working.
Oh, and another thing, it's "Greater Than" as the validator has to return "True" for the ability to fire, so if you want to know which one it is just make a sentence of it and it'll make sense.
"I want the Ghost to fire his sniperif the range between the ghost and his target is greater than 3."
Thanks man. Ya I had it in the wrong place and it was using a smart validaitor, whatever the fuk that is. It makes sense adding the validtor to the damage effect.

So I'm trying to add a min use distance on the ghost's snipe ability and I can't figure it out.
It has a smart validator called ghost (min distance) with these attributes below:
