I have no idea what's causing this problem and therefore no idea where to post the question.
I had just published my map for private testing with a group of friends, and on our first playtest none of the units (all standard game units), none of the units would do the mentioned behaviors. Neither Auto-attack, Right-click attack, nor attack-move functions work. Does anyone have an idea what might have caused this?
Edit: This is for all units against all targets, including enemy players' units and destructible rocks/debris.
Seems like the unit does not attack at all ? or the weapons is disabled somehow, double check that your unit have the attack abilities added (having it listed as linked under the unit does not mean it actually have the attack abilities)
Let's say Player 1 and player 2 are on opposing teams. (This seems to be working; unit circles are green/yellow/red as they should be.)
Player 1 uses the "attack" command and clicks the ground next to player 2's nexus to send 20 zerglings into player 2's base. The zerglings run to the spot player 1 clicked, and do not do anything else. They do not attack player 2's nexus, nor his probes, nor any other player 2 unit.
Player 1 highlights 20 zerglings and right-clicks directly on player 2's Nexus. The zerglings run to the nexus, but do not attack.
Player 1 uses the "attack" command (this time aimed at player 2's nexus) to send 20 zerglings to player 2's base. The zerglings run to the nexus and attack it. When the nexus dies, the zerglings stand still and do not move to attack anything else.
You can set up one-sided alliances, so one player is hostile with another, while the other one is allied with the first. This would explain the zergling behavior and the selection circle confusions maybe. Did you mess around with the alliance settings in the trigger editor? If so, we would need every trigger, which affects your alliance states somehow, most likely.
I know old thread, but I had a similar problem where units were not attacking even with Attack under abilities and command card. Make sure the weapon on the unit has the option "can initiate attack" under Weapon-Options.
could be several problems, check and make sure the scan setting for the weapon the unit is using are set right some things to look for are minimum scan range. If this is set low may cause units to not attack. Range set to zero might cause no attacks. also make sure your weapon scan filters are not conflicting. The most likely problem is weapon scan filters. If you set it to have no scan filters they should try to attack anything that is set in target filters, since you say your units can attack when you specifically click attack then tell them to attack it the target filters should be ok.
Hope this helps, also maybe you could help me figure out how you got them to not attack like that. I want exactly what you have!
