Hey, im trying to make a new unit with a custom model of WoW. As you know, WoW sizes are a bit, off so i wanted to upscale the Lich King. (it is like 10% of a marauder) Only, when i try to increase scale, the selection circle gets way bigger also so it takes up an entire screen just for this little marauder-sized unit. Is there a way to decrease the selection circle size without descaling the model? also, the acutal selection? (like how close you get to click on it, thats a bit off with WoW too)
Not sure about this but it's worth a shot. Depending on where you scaled the model, in the model data or actor data, try change the scale in the other field.
got the same problem with different models like the dragon from wow when hes flying hes taking the whole screen for selecting u allways select him that anoying and u cant change it with any radius options
I am having an issue with unit selection myself. Unfortunately for you the information for this is stored inside the model itself and will scale with any parameter which changes the scale of your model. You can manually edit the selection object for your model but with the current tools your options are limited. Nintox recently released an update to his M3 exporter that allows for custom bounding spheres for your model. I am however currently under the impression that there is at least one additional type of bounding object. Some units, the Cube shape as an example, suggest a non-spherical selection behaviour and is more akin to a some form of bounding box. At this time though I am unaware of any method to add or set your modelss selection object to utilise this box shape.
Will change the size of the green circle on selecting the unit. See attached picture. Helpful note is the editor will show you the size as you change this value.
This doesn't change the click selection though, that would have to do with the import/exporter of models.
if it has to do with the model's bounding sphere... then how could we change that? or can't we?
i downloaded the Wall Models (3 Types) to use in my map... but since the wall blocks are 1x1... i scaled them up in X and Y (in the model's Scale Maximum and Scale Minimum) to make it 2x2 in size... it looks great but i am having the problem of selection radius being much bigger then the model now...
Look up the other three threads on the same topic. In short put all the events usually found on the Unit actor into the Model actor and disable the add to proximity (or was it external) flag on the Model actor.

but if you did fix it... i'd love to hear your solution... since you never posted it here

Changing the "Radius" - field in the model data type should have an influence on this.

no, they both have the effect

change the selection radius is a separate scale.

so was a solution for this ever found?

You can always make it an animated attachment to a hidden selectable model.

that does sound like a good idea... only i have no idea how i'd go about doing that
