I've been trying to find a way to make 2 merge abilities, one for high templars so that they can merge to an archon and one for dark templars so that they merge to a dark archon. Can someone please help?
I've looked at the high Templar archon merge what I can't find anything connected to it so I think the ability is hard-coded so I can't see how to make a merge ability by duplicating the ability.
You can duplicate the ability and change it to create a Dark Archon. I've done it for my mod. If you dont want DTs to be able to merge into normal Archons you need to remove this ability from them.
allready made this u just need to copy all stuff in the ability link the stuff togheter like in the original and change the unit tjat is needet to morph and the unit that gets createt
@Spoolofwhool: Go Adding it to other units will work, but players will be able to use any combination of 2 units they want, so you have to think about unit costs and other details.
Reply number 6 of this thread and the Weekly Data Excercise #19 thread. I made a robust multi unit merge system for the puke-a-lisk and made something similar for the consume build for the WDE. Combine the two and you have your perfect flexible merge system.

the answer is yes, you can also do all sorts of other bizarre things with this ability when you combine it with other abilities and triggers. like example being a very bizarre form of mass mind control, or allowing hero's to morph so they can learn new abilities once the player gets bored of the old ones or they become in effective. I never thought id say this but i am actually starting to really like this new map editor now that i have gotten an intermediate grasp on it.

We can help but your question is very vague.
Study the ability and actors for the existing ability, try to duplicate the process, and post about any specific problem you encounter.

Okay thx everyone, the merge works. If I added the ability to other units, would it still work?
One more question, how do I add an animation to the merge like the regular archon?
Under the events of the Unit Actors of the units involved and a few Model actors created on certain phases of the ability for any other effects.

Is there a way to modify the number of units merged?
Read what I wrote in #6. Also combine that with the consume build from the WDE and you have yourself your perfect merge system.
