I'm currently making a wall unit as a duplicate of the Supply Depot (raise/lower ability and all). Everything is technically functional (the actors won't appear except the stand animation, whether or not that's relevant), but apparently the cost of using the lower/raise ability is -100 minerals both ways (the unit costs 8 minerals and 8 gas to build) but my resources don't change when the ability is used. When I make the lowered unit cost 100 minerals there is no cost display but you lose 100 minerals when lowering it and get it back when you raise it (although the normal unit doesn't cost anything).
My map moved the costs to the building ability, but switching it back to the individual unit didn't do anything (except the display shows -92 minerals and 8 gas which is half right). What black magic is going on here?
The way the editor calculates the costs are as follow:
- Displayed value:
[ability's technology costs] + [costs of target unit] - [costs of source unit's subgroup alias unit]
- Value used for red markers & requirement:
[ability's technology costs] + [costs of target unit] - [costs of source unit]
- Value that you actually pay:
[Cost of the morph] + [costs of target unit] - [costs of source unit]
