Hey is there anyway that a turret follows the path of an ability? I've made a replica of this ability (made by Kueken) but for the Laser Tank but the turret does not seem to work.
I'm trying to do something, I'm looking to the Terratron Beam Attack, which follows an invisible unit with its head (seems to be its turret). P.S.:Does not seem to work.
Unfortunately, as far as I know the only way to make a turret rotate to a target is by binding it to a weapon and make the weapon attack a unit. So you would probably need a hidden dummy weapon targeting an invisible dummy unit.
You would need to move the dummy unit according to the movement the turret should have, the dummy unit needs to be targetable only by this weapon, and the weapon has to work, while you are channeling the beam ability.
But look at the Terratron Beam Launcher, it doesn't have a hidden weapon, it has an Invisible Unit but I don't know how it does for following it. P.S.: how did you make the Elemental to rotate while casting the Frost Ray?
€ it seems like the invisible unit is used as the end point of the beam. Also, the Terratron indeed uses a weapon called "Head Tracking", which targets any unit owned by the enemy (which would probably be you) and by itself (which would be the invisible unit for the beam). It fires on the move, prefers the closest target and executes a dummy damage effect causing 0 damage, so the head always looks at you or the beam target dummy, whatever is closer to it.
Hey I've got the dummy weapon and the dummy unit, but I can't lend the Laser Tank to attack the dummy unit with the dummy weapon, and I'd like the dummy unit to be ordered when is created move from (-10,-20) (the point where the beam starts) to (10,-20) (the point where the beam ends). I think I can do it via an Issue Order effect but the unit ignores it. I also want to create the dummy unit when the ability is cast via a Create Unit effect but I cannot get it. Could someone made a quick tutorial for doing it? If you want I can attach the mod with the necesary map and the added Custom.SC2Mod (a mod with models, icons, etc. from here) for testin it and for doing it. If it's posible I'd like not to use any kind of triggers on doing it. P.S.: The Custom.SC2Mod I have to send it to you via Dropbox or anything like that because it's 170 MB (yeah I know, too heavy, but I've downloaded lots of models and icons)

Are you sure it is a different method? He also has a turret set up for a dummy weapon, which executes an empty search effect and probably targets your hero.

How can I auto-attack an invulnerable unit? I need it for my custom ability. I want to create a Dummy Target with Invulnerable flag active, so any other unit except the dummy weapon of my Laser Tank can attack it. It is beacause when I create the unit everyon near it attack it (since it's hostile) and I want only my unit to be able to attack it.
EDIT: Think I got it. Since any unit can target an unit in Stasis state, I duplicated the Mothership - Stasis behavior and erase everything except the Stasis state flag and put the Hidden flag, so the uit appears to be as Stasis state but it can move, attack, whatever. No need of Invulnerable flag, just put OPs values as life, armor and life regen for not being "hurt" by the beam pass. This cann't be seen since the unit is Invisible model and the status bar is not showed.

I made a quick example, I hope it helps. Its pretty crude, the order offset is more of a guess than actually precise, but you get the idea ;)
