I can't hear the sounds I add in the cinematic editor no matter what. I can hear it just fine if I tst it in game but in the editor I can't. This makes it rather impossible to sync up sounds. I've read blizzards write up and what was on the forums with no luck. Any luck?
There is a bug if you don't have any document loaded that the sounds won't play. So best thing to is to create new one when you open up the editor. Also, the editor can only play sounds for one window at a time, so try closing the other ones.
So I start up the HotS editor, load up a portrait model and its sound, and it plays just fine. Now, all of a sudden, sounds don't play at all in the cinematic editor. Master volume cranked up all the way, etc. etc. There is no hotkey/documentation that seems to address this. What the hell happened? o.O
Hi there, I've been trying out the cutscene editor and so far I'm really impressed.
However, I can't figure out why I can't hear any sounds that I put on the timeline and it would be great if a more experienced user could help me.
I do hear the sound in the Data Editor using preview but I don't hear it in the cutscene editor nor while playing the cinematic ingame.
I have searched this for hours and tried everything I can think of:
I have tried both 2D and 3D sounds.
I have tried to position the 3D sound at the same XYZ position as my camera.
"File -> Preferences -> Sound" looks good - Master at 100%
Tried "Game Listener Mode" on and off.
Only one editor window open.
Listening with headphones.
Only tried one computer as I don't have access to another one with the map editor at the moment.
Here is a SC2MAP file I'm trying this with. Would be nice if some one could load it in the CE and see if they hear anything.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Finally FINALLY!!!! I've solved my issue and hopefully this applies to others. The answer was incredibly simple. All I did was open the terrain editor -> View -> and toggled Enable Sound. Whew that got me excited. If this didn't help hopefully something here might HERE.

Try using headphones when you listen for sound that's what I did and it seems to work.
