Not sure where else to put this and this forum seemed best.
Does anyone know how to reverse an animation? I have the Scourge Nest and when it attacks by the end of the animation it dies. The animation is 5 seconds long and 2.5 seconds is actually a perfect cut off point to make it stop animating in that direction and reverse instead so it doesn't look like it dies every time it attacks.
No unfortunately it can't reverse animations. This is a feature I've been pushing for (among others). Anyway you can cut an animation length down so you don't have to use an outside source. Try playing with a few of the options for animations. If you still can't get it how you want it I'd look into blender or 3ds max.
er, i remember somewhere someone had asked this exact same question. one of the responses seemed rather painful to do, but it would work. it essentially boiled down to using actor events with a very very fast timer with the event and action "Timer Expired" -> "Animation Set Time" or something like that and manually setting the desired point in time of the desired animation. Example: Animation "Attack" Set Time 1.00 -> Animation "Attack" Set Time .9 -> Animation "Attack" Set Time .8 etc. until the animation has 'reversed' then clearing the animation at the end.
Animations are a set of frames. This one in particular has 5000 if I recall correctly. I only need the first 2500. What I would do is move frame 2499 to replace frame 2501 and so on... (This sounds really tedious but in smooth animation editors this takes about a second).

I'll take a look in to this. Any more information you could give would be swell :)

I don't think it's possible to do without using an outside software to reverse the animation then reimport it.
Any idea on the kind of software?

Well I think I'd like to cut it down to 2.5 Although I've never had to do this.
it's not possible to move a single frame over by hand?

Im not sure what you mean by this really.

That might work outside of the CE but actor manipulation like that is hard to do with the CE though it may not be impossible.

Hi baaicly you want to make an m3a file which contains your New animation
In this (slightly outdated) tutorial I explain the basics of how to crrate/modify animations of existing models
http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/resources/tutorials/36502-blender-how-to-create-an-animation-m3a-for-an-existing/
Reversing the keyframes may be doable by scaling the animation curves by -1 in x axis
In the tutorial section you can find some more Blender Tutorials
