The solution is to follow my guide in making the mod. You have to copy/move the assets folder into the base.sc2data folder. Check my guide from the sig.
Anyway, here's the carrier with a few details added. I'd appreciate honest comments and direction. Particularly with regards to designing space ships, huge space ships. The detailing part, I mean.
Seriously, Blizzard's art team for SC2 should hire you.
You're a natural at this!
Would you re-do the texture for the Guardian next? It looks really low-res...
Afterwards, I'd suggest doing the Corsair. Perhaps give it that blueish grey hue that DT units have? (Or make 2 textures for it?)
yea the roll is a site operation. can be attached to any unit.
guardian i did resize the texture. from 1024 > 512.
i simply dont have enough space in the mod files to have 1024 size textures for all the custom units. they go from 1mb down to 256kb. which sc2 then compresses to about 65kb.
the carrier however. i left diffuse at 1024 and shrunk the rest. too much detail was lost going down to 512. but i dont mind. it's a big unit :)
@maverck:
You should really release a version with all the textures at maximum size on this site, or at least release those unit graphics to the public with the original texture sizes.
What do you mean blizz quality? The carriers look better than blizzard's and the shuttles and reavers are really amazing. Some work could be done on organic units, like the guardian, I don't know what it is but it just looks kind of flimsy to me.
But I'm a protoss guy so I care more about them than the zerg units.
Well, tbh, I'm still about 1/8 satisfied with them. Part of the issue is the exporter still has some limitations. Thereby producing limitations in the models themselves. Not only that, but as we all know everything needs time for development.
Be assured though that I will not stop until there is finally some satisfaction. :) And I mean true satisfaction, not the giving up one. ;)
I would say great but sometimes that is a bad thing. They already look really good. The worst thing done in gaming is trying to fix something that isn't broken. Just hope you don't go too far and kind of ruin it as some have in the past in previous games. I think there was this mod for Oblivion that was amazing until they kept adding more to make it better or fix something which was already perfect and it kind of ruined the mod.

Whatever you do, wholeheartedly, moment by heartfelt moment, becomes a tool for the expression of your very soul.
Is it? Maybe Maverck resized the textures?
Maybe next round of edits Alex. Sure.
Having two textures would be easy I guess. A few adjustment layers and kaboom.

It’s all about the actors maaaan.
Site operations I think....I’m pretty sure.
Don't quote me I could be wrong.
Awesome work, keep it coming ;).

Can you also make a Dark texture of your Model? Ofc, only if you have time for it (:
@AlexO6:
thats kinda Gna's thing to do if he so wishes :)
Okay, I'll make an assets page for the released ones presently.

Even though they were resized they look amazing. I can't wait for the sc2bw map. After seeing these models I can die a happy man.

They just need to be fine tuned and once they're blizz quality it will be perfect.

Advice well received, Keyeszx. I will keep this in mind.

That’s awesome, do you create the models from scratch or do you have a base to work with?
Either way your models and textures are amazing.
