Here's the up to date everything. There's another obj file inside. I also exported .3ds incase that helps. Can someone import this into galaxy editor so I can see how the textures are doing. If i know the end result, it'd be easier to manipulate what I have currently. Do not trust the .dds files inside; that was me trying to import it into galaxy editor myself for the last 2 hours.
So I'm totally going to step on toes by asking this -
Does the reaver model you are requesting HAVE to look like the bizarre detached simplistic model that they had in the alpha?
Or would you be content if someone made a brand new reaver model that looked something like the reaver combined with the polish of the current colossus model?

Let me clarify -
Something that looks like the classic SCI Reaver - (how it actually looks like a big bug) but with more of the more up to date look - just taking the current protoss style, using the Colossus and the Carrier as a basis (they have a look - there is a design "standard" they follow"

If you want to, you can make it. I might use it instead of this one.
And if not, you can always release it in the asset section; I'm sure someone would end up using it.
But if you can make another Reaver, I'd say go ahead for it. This community doesn't have enough modelers or models as it is, so I'm all for it, and like I said, Gurluas might use this one in here, but I could always use yours instead and leave Gurluas with a different model, making each of our projects more unique.
I haven't animated it yet, but here's the rigged version to sate your appetite until I get the idle/moving/dance anims in. If you need something OTHER than those 3, now would be the time to speak up, but I don't recall the reaver moving that much in sc1 :P

Honestly, I suck horribly at animating = no experience at all. Anything you do will be alot better then anything I can do. All I can ask for, is that there are animations for it moving, turning(?), and dieing. Btw - i'm working on the sair right now =D

And it moved like a...Snail. :p
It did have an animation for firing scarabs. Its weird pointy rings actually moved back a bit, as if they had some recoil, and reset back to normal position. The legs also moved a bit.
Part of the full animation can be seen at the end in this video, when it shows the Twilight Archon:
I don't know how you guys managed to get so much info from those few seconds, but I guess a firing animation is in order. I think that's probably the easiest one to do. I tried to import the files you gave me into galaxy, but the textures weren't loading even after I imported them...
On another not, I honestly don't think you need a scarab model... All that's visible is equivalent of a dragoon firing boom thingy. I think vulture mine's ai would help here...

Pretty much. However, keep in mind that the Scarab icon is the same as the Reaver's "face", which is that front ball with the weird nose.
In SC1, you couldn't really see Scarabs either, yet they had an image. Plus, this early on in development. Though I don't personally think it's necessary to make a scarab model, as it won't really show in-game.
You could only see it in sc1 when the scarab got stuck lol. Really though, I still have the scarab model... but really... what's the point of texturing it if noone's going to see it.... I'd rather put the time into something else.
Reaver walking anim (prototype) attached. Idle and dance are done too, but the exporter isn't exporting any of the anims :(

Also, I watched the vid AlexO6 provided, should be extremely easy to add that in. Plus I see now how they intended the thing to move, more like a slug than something with limbs, also fixable. Again though, need to figure out why anims aren't exporting =P

For now let us recreate the Reaver as Blizzard envisioned it to be.

I prefer the last known official design for now. Creative changes can always be made once the reaver has returned.
If you want to, you can make it. I might use it instead of this one. And if not, you can always release it in the asset section; I'm sure someone would end up using it.

In that case, only two steps remain...Someone must remake the Reaver, dont ask me how...Not too skilled with the editor.
You should modify so it moves as a slug, otherwise it looks very good.
