@phanalax128: Go Blizzard's normals are just the diffuse texture with a photoshop's emboss effect, so I'd suggest doing it the same way and avoid that hard work.
I've made one of these. It's kind of a mix between sc1 and sc2 versions. I'm not very satisfied with the result, but you could use it as a placeholder until phanalax finishes his.
Looks cool. But does it have a spec map? I'd expect some noticeable golden specularity as protoss have. Also, why it all is so much brighter at work anim? I'd expect only the blue emissive "energy" parts to get brighter. Also, tell me please, that you exported with Art Tools. I heard some people still using the obsolete "m3 exporter", when we have TaylorMouse's importer and Art Tools for export.
It doesn't use custom textures. It's just an altered forge with parts of "protossbuildings.m3" added. "protossbuildings.m3" doesn't have spec, I could make a custom one, and/or increase the specular levels on those parts...
The screens look like they do because I'm not in my Desktop, and I can't use the highest quality in-game. One of the screens was taken inside the scene editor and the other one in the terrain editor. That's why they have a different lighting, and maybe that's why the specs don't look that good in there. I've tested placing the model with other protoss models in my home and I haven't seen much contrast. I'll update better screens this afternoon.

You can do it as soulfilcher suggested. Use normals like blizzard use so this will make the forge in its good shape.

I don't understand why you often say your model not satisfied, damn, that Forge is perfect in SC2 style and recall perfectly the SC1 model :)

I don't like the color. It looks a little dull like Zolden said.
And I don't like the shape neither... The empty space in the middle feels strange, and the model in general looks flat.

mmh the color look good to me, maybe the middle space is true, but the original Forge too have this caracteristic XD
