Modeling Monday [SC2Streamster]

@xcorbo: Go

The beta for Diablo 3 has already been released. The Diablo 3 files are also not magically deleted once the beta ends.

I'll work on getting a video uploaded to Youtube of the 'stomping' attack I gave the Psi Disrupter in my TD.

EDIT: I forgot to lower the volume in SC2 to make my voice stand out more, but what I say isn't really important. Just looking for the example of a custom Psi Disruptor attack.

Here's the link:

Reminder: My main recommendation is that the explosion or burn death animations for zerg ground units don't quite fit in to the list of attacks I posted earlier. How to make a 'stumble' death animation would be nice is all I'm trying to say.

TODAY ON MODELING MONDAY!!

In this tutorial we will be modeling a super cute beautiful butterfly! (cause this is so manly)
We will be modeling it from scratch and will be using line modeling techniques, plus the wings are going to be masked out to transparency.

In this tutorial you'll be learning:
• Starcraft 2 Materials and shaders!
• Opacity Masks
• Texturing techniques and UVW Unwrapping
• Introduction to Animation
• Line Modeling!!

You'll be needing:
• A computer with internet and super google abilities!
• Autodesk 3ds Max
• Adobe Photoshop CS5 (or whatever image editor you use that suppors .dds format)
• Starcraft 2 Map Editor

See ya in 5 hours from this post!

I'll have to cancel today's show due to personal reasons, I'll try to upload the youtube HQ version later today but by the looks of it I probably won't be able to, sorry guys for those who were excited to make butterflies and stuff.

Bummer. Suggestion for future: show us how we can make custom splats for placing arbitrary imported DDS images on the ground. Sorry if this is outside scope of modeling, but afaik it would require modeling work.

Sounds cool to make a butterfly. I might take a shot at this once the tutorial is up.

There is a butterfly tutorial. It's not sc2 realted, but the only difference is to use starcraft2 material.

right, but the point of the butterfly was to get insect transparent wings (wings of which we see the veins and a little bit of gray while still behing able to see trough them.). Your tutorial shows a nice colored 0% transparency butterfly.

Out Of Stock Sorry xD Real Number of hours: ''135''
