Warning. don't expect this mod to be a hyper-professional, balanced masterpiece. I nearly wanted to create a way to show the Talon assets including some of the ideas I had for them. Most changes are of model-nature and for some of the unique units they also come with their own roles/weapons and stuff. But ability-wise nothing significant is done.
Also I built a makeshift functionality into the mod allowing socalled faction play, providing a unique take on the overal Talon tech-tree and use the unique units.
Hmm.. I'm not sure what you used for the talon unit textures, but i would give you my dragoon to retexture if you can get it working .. i mean.. what i have currently probably does work, but its all with odd paths and names.. i just want something lill more coherent, and help that i had before has kinda whittled down in the middle of it, with a few more things that need to be added
If I'm hearing you correctly you'd like a Dragoon with Talon retexture?
Well most of the textures have their basics from the Tal'Darim unit textures. But it doesn't guarantee for them to work all the time. I'd be happy to take a look texture-to-model if you wish. for me its ok.
Haha, yeah I wondered when that question came. I would've created it already by now (same for Void Ray) if it wasn't for the minor trouble that I can't import any variation of it in Blender.
If any of you happen to now if anyone has already done Adept and Void Ray portraits please let me know, those models might provide me with a possible workaround.
hm, honestly.. some of these look like they're drugged on purple stuff XD there's not a hint of mysticism or a shade of evil on them ( although i dunno if it should be)
I'd really like to see something that matches the somewhat intimidating look of the Vaporizer.
Hehehe. Didn't you know, the Talon are basically Always high from the radiation of the Crystals they use to power their stuff, much like the Tal'Darim are high from Terrazine :P
No all joking asside. I never really had any ideas other than... "make em look Talon-ish" which mostly means.. give them some dark and purple shading. But I can see if I can do something about it.
well compared to terrazine, this is meth XD its no good
joking aside, a lot of mystery was done pretty nicely in sc1, by completely covering faces in the shadow, letting only eyes glow, (like on the high templar) or shadows reflecting on the model from something behind the camera ( sc1 zeratul portrait) or, by making the skin of certain characters so dark that the only detail on them is either the intimidating bursts of energy, or just a highlight on the edges of the facial (or other) features, due to that same energy glow (both regular and dark archon)
the effects of sc2 are pretty mellow compared to the sc1, and while sometimes they're much cooler, sometimes they really lack impact

I've been playing around with the idea of a glowing teamcolor hex. And considering that Blizzard has upped the ante once more with a shitload of new models I though maybe I can use those new spots for some new conversions.
Yes.. I'm sticking to my guns of the Talon a little bit. but hey...
Its not completed yet, it still has some parts that... are iffy. but I though to use this one as a replacement for the Forged Zealot.
hm.. iffy is a right word.. maybe those spikes should be horizontal and on the sides as 'tusks', while some sort of a 'globule' floats on top of the shoulder
the mask is very.. non-see-able x3 and kneepads could be reshaped into spikier, or into two spikes like a snake tongue

Hey WingedArchon and welcome back.
I also experinced technical difficulties with my pc.
Just when I almost finish my campaign (talk about timing 😢).
Hopefully it will be resolve soon-ish.
If you have time and energy to spare I have ideas for new talon units.

Time and energy all depends. I do have some more time on my hands now though, Energy seems a tad bit influenced by the outside weather :)

That badboy looks so rad.
But if i may, here are few ideas to make it more menacing.
1. Change arm plate to nerazim zealot.
2. Change psi blade to purifiers sentinel psi blade
3. Change shoulder plate to alarak
And last
4. Add zeratul scarf to make him more veteran like.
