nope srry, not that guy, never even heard of that game... I've never gone by the name phalanx i've always spelled it Phanalax. notice the position of the letter N.
Finnally got around to texturing the zergling model. My texturing skills are definitely sub-par, but It still looks pretty good to me at least. took me like an hour to get team color to work...
it has a normal and a diffuse currently.
I'm much better at animating then I am at texturing so this next part will be pretty good hopefully.
I'm looking at the sc2 zergling texture right now, and I dont think i can make it fit inside my uv settings, but I'm going to repaint my texture using it as a reference.
Okay I've retextured this little guy, though once again, my texturing skills are no where near the best. This render Is straight from 3ds max. Anyone know how I can recreate that slimy zerg feeling in the startools settings? has a diffuse, normal, and specular map. Also tell me what you think of it, I want to get other opinions. :)
Edit: Oh, also they grey sections are the parts where it will be team colored.
The slimy is all in the specular. Take a look at the other Zerg speculars. How I like to do it is take the diffuse and use the black/white adjustment and then the color balance adjustment to make it blue like the rest. After that apply the plastic wrap adjustment and change the settings until it's like other Zerg speculars. This is all done in photoshop so I hope you have it otherwise this is all probably useless to you. Great work on the awesome model by the way!
Hey, Thanks for the input! Yes I do use Photoshop, I was wondering if their was a way to replicate that shiny effect they had on the zerg speculars. Where do I find this plastic wrap adjustment?
You are the Phalanax of these replays?? http://antioch.snow-fall.com/wiki.pl?Replays

wonderfull :D
But I think we need a better texture, or will be a problem to use it. Why you don't modify the Zergling texture for him?
Yeah is ok but the color scheme is not at 100% on sc2 style,Anyway impressive model
indeed, use zergling texture, unwrap uv it to your model, may look better

@phanalax128: Go
Ooops it's actually in Filter/Artistic/PlasticWrap
When I found that it opened up my entire world to making awesome Zergies :D
@phanalax128: Go There are also some values for the texture in the model itself. I had to change those to get the Defiler's specular right.
@SoulFilcher Which Settings specifically?
@GhostNova91 That plastic wrap filter works beautifully! thanks for telling me about that.
Impressive, the Zergling is very good :D
Bananna. Texture needs some work.
Nice banana,for the Zergling i will wait the new update with GhostNova tips
@phanalax128: Go I dont remember, but I know they have different names in Blender and 3dsmax.
Why not use Blizzard's zergling parts for this Bananaling?
