Here's a suggestion for the mutation. It does regular scourge stuff but when it explodes it also drops aoe damage as like a secondary. Like acid raining down or something.
@GhostNova91: Go Thanks. Well, I went through some ability ideas with Zarxiel for the HoTS remake, and I think there are too many free ground units and splash damage already. We think one option should spawn quickly in trios just like the Swarmling, and the other should launch itself as a missile and maybe deal a little more damage.
@SheogorathSC: Go I have, but with soooo many things in my list I shouldn't have started these Scourges. I have to focus and remove things from my list by finishing them, not add new things.
EDIT: Speaking of unfinished models here's the SC1 SCV I made some time ago. It only needed an unit icon and wireframe but I was lazy. Today I made them and uploaded it to the assets section.
If you're still on for the Scourge strains thing, another idea for a possible ability would be for, maybe when it explodes, it deals less immediate damage, but leaves a fungal growth-like effect on other units around the impact zone.

I'm sure the guys of the HoTS remake team want more suggestions, but I'm more focused on finishing models. I like your idea, but in the end I guess its special ability needs to be something the whole swarm may be lacking. There are some suggestions for it but I believe it won't be anything that affects ground units.
@ soulfilcher: im right busy with the mod. But i still wait on the Defiler. I like the scourges now. I think i will use the green for a splitting strain (Smiler to the Splitterling i can him FurySplitter) and the prup as an splash damage strain. (Swasher) (if someone have better names PM my)
But i also use an infestor strain. The green one if the L2D choker (if you can remove that green smoke in one day) But i still don't have the prup.
But im not yet so far. I first must make all units finished :)
@rikky333: Go The animations for the defiler have been a slow progress. I have a final unburrow animation, but burrow and transport unload are still placeholders. I really want to release a final version for this one. I know it will be used a lot and I don't want to see those ridiculous placeholder animation all around ;-)
And here is yet another model I've been working on. The idea started a long time ago, but now with HoTS it... evolved. Credit goes to GhostNova for the model itself, I'm only doing the textures.
@DrSuperEvil: Go We simply used the tail from the zerg construction model. As I said it started before HoTS and only after I played HoTS campaign I decided to make it a primal unit. I think it already has more differences than HoTS primal units (not considering zergling and ultralisk because those aren't based on the standard units).
@rikky333: Go That is the primal version, not supposed to be used by evolutions, but changing it to use gree/purple variations of the standard drone texture wouldnt be hard.

Edit: Added an emissive layer. Wing muscles and mouth glow in the dark now. Looks creepy.

The primal drone model would have looked better with a double finned tail and a ridge down the back.

I honestly think that drone would do well as a model for twin drones, though I clearly see also the primal in there.
Maybe. But i don't want to make the primels a real race. As an evolution its better i think.
But hell i don't know where is will use him for.
