I was thinking problematic for the Marine. Then again the Emperor's guards from Star Wars weren't exactly in the most tactical uniforms so nevermind. :D
@Metalking1417: Go That was just an exercise, I don't plan to go on making more variations. What I really need to create are placement models my mod, and the community, needs. I already finished the Dragoon, the next in my list is the Preserver.
EDIT: I just uploaded an old suggestion made by DrSuperEvil, an animated version of the Tentacle Monster.
I just finished another model I wanted to make since I saw it in the dependencies, a repair bot. Sadly I had to scrap the death animation entirely, but I guess a generic explosion will look good enough.
I don't get it, why the repair bot modification when the old one has animations and team colour. If anything do the Hornet that looks like one but with a cockpit in one of the doodads
Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
@nolanstar: Go I used this one because it was easier to get working as a unit. I may try to use the Hornet one later, or resking this one with the Hornet's textures. I'm not sure what you mean by "old one with animations and team colors".
I remember you talking about adding an explosive variation of the infested terran to StarCraft expanded. do you plan on creating a new model for it, and if so what would it look like?
@Metalking1417: Go Yes, I'll try to create a model for that. What I have in mind is something like the infested colonists, but fat and with a glowing green belly. I'll try not to use infested colonists as a base model though.
@DrSuperEvil: Go But I think that's the model I used. I removed all the unnecessary glow, and the green cross, because I felt it screamed "healing" and not "repair".
Here's another test. I took the textures used by the lab holo with a zergling and applied them to the zergling unit. I made a separate animation (Cover) for the holo flickering so all standard zergling animations are untouched. There's also an orange variation. I added a birth animation and still need ot add a death animation to make it disappear.
Check, legs are visible behind the body. There must be an option in the material, that would hide the parts behind the transparent parts, something z pass related. Would improve its look.
@GhostNova91: Go My thoughts exactly. And with blue and orange variations they can be set to passive and aggressive modes.
@Zolden: Go Thanks for the suggestion Zolden. I bascially copied material stuff from the doodad and didn't look much into the details but I agree that hiding those will look much better.
EDIT: Yeah, looks cleaner now, here is the orange variation. The material flag is called Depth Prepass in Blender.
That uses simultaneously 2 materials, one of which is of displacement kind, that refracts stuff behind and creates glassiness effect. While your idea leads to bold semitransparency.
@SoulFilcher: Go
Lol, I was just saying for saying, man. But you can do it, if you think you want to... :p
@Metalking1417: Go
Nah, it'd be more like the wolf. Mengsk's family symbol is a wolf. No wonder too many of them are dying like flies, ROFL...
@Metalking1417: Go I think there's a golden wolf somewhere in HotS doodads, let's see what I can do.
@JacktheArcher: Go Ok, I'll make sure I wont delete or override the original one.
@DeltaCadimus: Go The portait may be easier to make than the unit, because I won't need to worry about the cape.
@SoulFilcher: Go

How dare you sir! It'll be a wolf on that throne by the end of it I guarantee you that.
I uploaded the royal guard today without additional changes to his appearance. I decided to work on the portrait later.
So What do you plan to work on next? A Royal Version of Raynor (HEV Suit)?

Think he means the repair bot seen in the hyperion hots mission. Just add new animations to that.

Models for LotV custom. A Disruptor and a HERC.

Would a texture swap and Set Opacity actor event not have gotten the same effect?

Doesn't that HERP unit looks more like scv modification, rather then marauder?

Gorgeous work. Makes blizzard's job look easy.
