Hi everyone, i'm new here and i wasn't sure where to post and i hope this is the right place.
I have a question for you: Do you know how can i extract from the sc2 files the portraits of the units? I'm speaking of sth like this:
I've found the sounds files but not the "videos" of the portraits.
Just unpack the mpq files of the game and look for folder "portraits". There you can find .m3 file for every single unit.
It's usually called "portrait - (unit name).m3".
you need a program called mpqeditor and open the mpq named Base.SC2Assets which is located in the starcraft 2 install folder like this C\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\Base.SC2Assets.
in that file there will be folders the location of the 3d model file which are the portraits is under Assets\Portraits\{Race]\{Unit}

Thank you ;) Now i need 3d MAX in order to open these .m3 files, right?
I've managed to open a portraits in Blender with the .m3 plug-in. But i don't see how can i do something like this? (i'm speaking about the "video")
