I'm delving into the buildings and such but I've come to realize how hard it is because they need a ton of detail. I'm making the citadel of adun right now and I have to retexture it and it is not going well. Plus making SC1 stuff is kind of annoying because there are a couple of guys making them so when I finish something and see somebody else just did it I'm like damn what a waste of time. So I don't know, I'm just messing around with it right now.
Were you editing the camera? Just curious if you used the m3 plugins feature ;)
And why don't you team up with the other guys? Make a list of buildings which they want to do and you want to do and do buildings which don't overlap in your lists.
Wow ghost this stuff is insane went from adding animations to old models to creating new ones. These are all highly impressive hope you don't stop with the creative stuff.
I feel like an asshole for never thanking you for those scripts. THANK YOU! Honestly I would be modding anything without them so it's been super helpful.
As far as working with a team goes I think not. I am a collosal procrastinator....did I spell that right? Anyways I would totally piss off whoever I work with. At any rate I suck at completely retexturing so I'll prob pass some of these buildings off to someone else for completion.
I don't want anyone to feel like they've crossed the line when requesting that I do something. However I just don't really have interest In modding anything but Starcraft at the moment. But you should never be afraid to ask.
Good work Ghost You want create Fenix Dragoon too?
@SoulFilcher: Eu percebi agora chi vc è brazileiro. Eu tegno migna mae chi è brazileira pur 50%, eu to trabagliando nu remake di SC1 em italiano, talveiz vc poderia mi ajudar, u ki ascia?
p.s. nao so muito bom em gramatica brazileira, purke nunca istudei nu brazil XD
I totally agree here :) Blizzard actually gave us an engine to play around with. So basically the sky is the limit.
I'd be delighted to see mods come out that don't rely so much on the assets delivered with the game or even that don't rely on those assets at all (even on the tilesets)
After all, you can do units from scratch so why not do it?
I was just curious but you welcome :) Thanks to all of my predecessors of course!
Well, I didn't mean that by saying "to team-up". What I meant was to know what other person is doing so you won't get in each other way and won't do the same thing twice.
One, little recommendation: I think that for a pure modding purposes you could try to use println's python scripts. They are really easy to use and very handy dandy.

It takes 3-5 days to make a new nice looking and well animated unit from scratch.
And it takes 3-5 minutes to import one of hundreds models blizzard made. Noticable difference, isn't it? And this great amount and a wide diversity of the models covers 90% of unit ideas. Unless the author is a hardcore perfectionist (like I am sometimes).
As a satisfying compromise, we can create an absolutely new looking unit by editing an existing model's mech and texture. With all the desired singularity and originality, so no one will ever guess what model the new model was based on. And it only takes 30-50 minutes.
So, the only reason to not use wow/sc2 models is a sick imagination or a nesessity of uncommon animations. And this is, as I said, about 10% of cases.
I think I already requested it somewhere, but I'll throw it here again in hope some of the current mapster modellers will work on it. I need the Aiur Chef zealot but in the standard zealot proportions, cause the Aiur Chef looks very cartoonish.

Sadly I can't model at all, I couldn't even figure out of to make something as simple as a ball or cube. If I could, I would.
Yes he could. If he makes the model in an external program, he can charge you whatever he wants, regardless of what he personally uses it for.
Only models he could charge for legally is original work. If the models are set it the Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, or any other IP, he can't charge for the model.
Muspelli is right in this matter, GhostNova could indeed legally charge for the use of his models in a manner of speaking. There are loop holes in every rule and in this case there is as well. I won't be sharing this loop hole though, lets keep this place free shall we.

Thrikodias made some Cerebrates. You can find them on his assets page.

I'm not sure what you mean by fantasy but I'm pretty much only into new things for Starcraft as far as modding the game goes.

Fantasy refers to thing like Warcraft, Rift, Aion, Lord of the Rings, or Diablo.

Don't cross the line now, Razernok. We should be only thankful for him doing free SC2 assets.

He couldn't charge money for SC models as blizzard owns the rights to the IP.
If you look at the assets on the site we have little to no fantasy style models.
Well I don't think that Razernok is crossing the line here. He just threw in a statement that there are not enough fantasty models right?

Why should anyone create fantasy models? There is wow, we can take any fantasy model there.
But that isn't original work.

Wait what why is anyone talking about charging money for anything?
