So I was trying to recreate the look of Blizzard's achievements by using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I tried using Aorta (DDS Converter), and I managed to get a shine animation done correctly. However, when I went back to try it again with other objects, the transparency conversion ceased to work and replaced transparency with a white background. My png is transparent, so it seems that Aorta is causing the problem. I have a Mac, so I can't use Nividia's plugin.
Please tell me how to solve this problem, or if not, at least convert the files that I will shortly add to this post to dds.
I use aorta as well (Nvidia's PS plugin doesn't work for me), and I tried to convert the files for you. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened to me- the first picture came out with a while background instead of a transparent one.
So it's definitely not just your copy of Aorta. That makes me think something about that image in particular is unusual. O.o
Yes, there is something unusual about the picture. To save time, I filled up all spaces not covered by the achievement frame with green. Then, I created a white fill with overlay filter. I kept the green as the top layer, merged the layers, and used magic eraser to erase the green. That way, the white overlay would only apply to the frame and not the rest of the screen. However, I did this same thing with a scrapped version of the shine animation and it worked that time. On all 62 pictures. The only difference is that I used some more green on the bugged one than on the un-bugged one.
I'll post some files if you want to see.
Edit: Strange, I changed the images again and tried Aorta with them. And this time, they worked perfectly. WTF :?

Just save as "DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha" with your Nvidia plugin, and it will work for you.

Here (hope I understood right what you want)
Thanks, guys!

I definitely was expecting a different topic with the title...
Looks like it's all good now.
