Hi all ! I am quite new here and I decided to show what I have been working on for a while
I have decided to make my own version of WC4 level environment on sc2 engine. My main inspiration and reference is the upcoming Heroes of the storm game. So I will try to get as close as possible to it in terms of art style. Of course I am not planning to just copy everything from them as it is kind of pointless since you will probably get your hands an all of their assets as soon as the game will be released. However, the terrain part will be very close to theirs as I love how it looks. I will publish the map as soon as I finish all the necessary art models.
The house uses a lot of tileable parts thus making it possible to build a lot of different variations.

@TwoDie, yes spot on. I have started it quite a long time ago and I am working on it very very slowly. The reason is my main job. I am working in games company 8 hours daily and this is my side project which I do in my spare time for fun. But I will try to publish the map quite soon and then I will be adding more staff to it in the future. My next assets would be
- Alliance statue
- cliffs
- small decals (grass, bushes, flowers...)
- city doodads (bench, shop signboards, fountain...)
- bridge
when its specifily designed to use all options given in this new Engine, that is released after 6-10 years after WoW? (Low detailed WoW models vs SC2 high detailed models. And textures being higher resolution, and has more Texture layers? Diffuse WoW texture vs Diffuse, Specular, Normal texture layers that adds much more depth in them...) damn son.. U RISE RAGEE with such not thought out statements
Agree with TwoDie and I must add that wow models are designed quite differently. They are very detailed which makes them very noisy from the sc2 games perspective. I think the whole point is to make few big details which will be seen from far away. Also the model itself should be a bit bold or chunky like Triceron said. All in all, I think wow models are just designed for different perspective.
I know they are. That's why I'm saying it'll be nice to see models designed more towards SC2. I'm sorry for starting to "rise ragee" and causing confusion with my apparently vague statement.

PS. the footman model is done by Triceron
This stuff looks pretty convincing.
Could you please record a video of your workflow of creating those textures? Could be a simple overview or detailed tutorial.
It seems to be close to how blizz doing it, and I (and other modellers) would like to learn.
I dont know what to say except that looks FEAKING AWESOME!

@Zolden, nice idea! I will think about it.

Very nice! I love the chunky look and style. It definitely captures the Warcraft feel
How much i love heroes of the storm sutff <3
Aw man this stuff is to good. It'd be awesome to see a REALLY we'll done medieval map where the models aren't ported from WoW with added textures.
Nothing wrong with the porting but this looks so much better.

As Wargirl said, some more pictures every once in a while would be really nice ^^
I have decided to make a small video tutorial about how I do these assets. Here is the concept of the object I will be doing for this tutorial.
You drew all of this ?
impressive, you must teach us these things :)

Well thanks but I dont think I am the right person to teach you that. I am still learning how to draw myself.
anyway, I have managed to record two parts of the tutorial.
1. Lowpoly modeling
2. Highpoly sculpting
next will be
3. preperation for baking (retopology, unwrapping)
4. baking and texturing
I will try to record my voice also but I am not sure. Maybe just text will be enough.
And the links to these tutorials?
