Everything that is not PvP and championships, is dead. Of course I could continue, until I die of old age, but unfortunately this game (in the modding section) is dead, they have never wanted this type of community and is proven. With the last months, Blizzard (Activision) has left much to be desired, if we add its objective to bring everything to mobile phones, in addition to War3 remastered, War3 R will leave even more side Sc2, but not disappear Starcraft 2, War3 has the battle won since World of Warcraft has been the great success of almost two decades, now go back to the old format (strategy game), the has more popularity than Starcraft 2 or Starcraft, this eventually ruin Sc2 completely. We've been wanting new things for years, and I'm personally tired of following a company that does not care about their followers. As much as I love Sc2 everything has a limit and if they do not care I will not do it for them, (me or others)
While Blizzard may be dying, StarCraft2 can live on just as Protoss and Zerg who lived after the death of their creators the Xel'naga. As long as StarCraft is in our hearts it cannot die for good and it sure will stay in my heart forever.
There may not be a lot of us in the SC2 community, but there certainly aren't only few of us either. While only a few dozen creators who ever post something here, there I surely others in the sc2mapster community who don't even have accounts, I've been like this a long time before I started uploading maps & models, In times when GhostNova was almost the only one to have some models here. I was just simply downloading the models and puting them in maps I've done for my friends.
It surely depends on players if they'll stay loyal to this game, but so far we have sc2mapster that has grown heavily, you can now have pretty much every model you ever dreamed of. There are still plenty players who play co-op and even the number of multiplayer players is increasing (at least in my country).
So similarly to what Fenix once said: "There is no shame in defeat so long as the spirit remains unbroken", we may have suffered a defeat from Blizzard, but as long as the spirit of players don't die they will continue playing this game.
Also I don't think Blizzard is dead just yet. They just went from being a mighty Angel to being a mere mortal, just like Tyrael from Diablo did. They are slowly going from one of the best game companies to just an average one. But it does not mean they are dead. Sure they've angered a lot of players and they still love WarCraft more than Diablo and Starcraft, but that has been so all the time. For example they've canceled the Pro scene of Heroes Of The Storm, all the crybabies said it's dead, because of that. But actually the game still gets content, the tryhard players left and the game is still quite fun and when now not being so serious they've even started to experiment. I know this may not be the same for SC2, but they may do that later. If they don't, well it's sad, but we still have this fantastic comunity and we are not alone, in China they have all sort of crazy SC2 stuff.
While the game is not getting much love from creators, it surely is getting it from me, I'm still making models and commander concepts and people seem to like them.
And you've done a great deal for SC2 community as well, it is sad to see you lose hope, but it's up to you. After all it is your decision in what you will invest your time and your love.
Went through the colonial units and they could use some more work. Marines aim down to the toes of the enemy, rush tank seems to fire in three places, building with the landing pad has glowing dots that rotate when they should not, refinRy has a 3d light in mid space, blue smoke when buildings do queue animation, rocket launcher man arms go crazy, falcon attack and move/stop animation a little buggy. When I think I Am done modding your new creations always tempt me to do more.
Does Eschueta have a portrait? I love the model (well, really I love your model work in general) but I'm not sure what direction to take when it comes to a portrait.
Blizzard prophesied the collapse of the company, in Warcraft 3 R
Listen to Medivh's voice and have each of the characters (Horde and Alliance) be either the users or Blizzard and vice versa. And think who represents the Burning Legion.
I'm not sure if you have seen, but there are new war chest skins coming out which I think look pretty cool.
Personally, I am most excited about the Cyborg Zerg skins, partly because I actually drew cyborg zerg when I was younger. I also quite like the Xel'Naga zerg, just because IT'S XEL'NAGA and it would be useful for Xel'naga constructs in campaigns.
I'm most disappointed about the Terran set. I can't tell the difference between the new version and the original Terran, except the battlecruiser, which looks like a battlecruiser from the future.
What do you think? Especially about the Cyborg Zerg, as it's VERY similar to your UED zerg.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Stranded on Krydon Renewed- A renewed version of Stranded on Krydon that is being constantly updated, has improved visuals, is more friendly to new players, lots more fun tweaks and much more planned to come.
Zerg are cool, but in my iopinion too similar to the simulant ones.
Protoss are amazing, except for the portrait lazyness, cmon how can a walking sarcophagus with dead Protoss inside have a portrait of living Immortal ?
Terran are just a silver version of the Protoss Golden skin set. The battlecruiser and widow mine look cool tho.
I have not reviewed in depth. To me the Zerg, if I like it, remind me of the enemies of the DooM, are half biological machines, they are also perfect for the UED swarm.
I like the protoss, but I think they are destroying history with this war chest, since they imply that the xel'naga looked like protoss and even their own units. I support that Xel'naga as a race is impossible, something else is his army, but I think if they touch this, I think it should be a separate race with totally different units or that may have some features to the protoss, because What they do with it is to make believe that the Xel'naga are ancestral protoss.
Yep, they are also the Zerg from Heroes of the Storm map Braxis Holdout.
I think you've got the Protoss wrong. They are not mean to be Xel'naga (Despise the name Ihan-rii, which means "Great Teachers" and is another name for Xel'naga, but I'd say it's just a poorly chosen name, also for Zeratul's coop units ... giving them the name Xel'naga before the unit name was really stupid imo), they are ancient Protoss, who somehow can use Xel'naga technology and use it to make their own "constructs" or units or whatever. The lore explanation is that most of them went to stasis, but they still had Observers watching over the Koprulu, so they learned about all the tech of other Protoss factions and kinda replicated them with the Xel'naga leviatating stone technology. It's more likely they would create their own units, but it's plausible explanation for skin set.
I was a bit confused too at first, but after reading the lore of each of the skins and this summary on wiki it all started making sense. Even tho this faction should be ashamed for not helping against Amon (Except for alternate reality where Zeratul survived) as they seem to be the most powerful Protoss faction, because of the usage of Xel'naga tech.
""The Ihann-rii are fanatical protoss warriors, who have existed on the fringes of the Koprulu Sector for thousands of years. They have observed the other protoss kindred and zerg for years, and emulate much of their technology. The Ihan-rii believe they are the one true descendants of the xel'naga, and believe that if they fight with valor they too will reach godhood. The Ihan-rii carve runes into their ships and walkers professing their devotion and loyalty to the xel'naga, and warding against heretics.
Ihan-rii utilize an animated stone material in their ships and constructs. This material is light, durable, and chemically inert, making it ideal for deep-space ships. They are supported by many repurposed xel'naga artifacts, including dynamos and relic named nebula wells. They operate off of void energies for many of their constructs. Some of their technology, such as warp prisms, were modeled after nostalgia for their old homeworld.
Early in an Ihan-rii's life, they are bound to a void crystal that resonates with their psionic signature. When an Ihan-rii reaches maturity, that crystal is sharpened into a deadly spearpoint. Dead warriors are entombed in immortal-like sarcophagi, which carry their remains into battle. Many of the Ihan-rii remain in deep space, in stasis aboard their ships, awaiting a distress call to awaken them.""
I love that we're getting new unit models like this man. That Ghost though. Give it to me. The trooper is also a need. Marauder hero let's gooooooooooo. Fantastic he doesn't use an SCV, but slave labor, it's so him. That siege tank is sexy. The viking is also great. Battlecruiser is kinda goofy but I like it mostly. New Thor model. We're saved. Strange that he uses a blimp, but no complaints. Medivac is also sharp.

No she does not have portrait, most of the custom model that I do, they do not have portrait.
If you want to do on your own can.

I had that Zerg idea in mind when the Mech Zerg appeared.
And the protoss are brutal.
Terran, well, that ... is not worth it.
Yeah, mecha zergs are awesome.
