having a hard time making alpha channels import to sc2. ive gotten it to come in sort of transparent, but the alpha image was spposed to gradually blend. does anyone know if NINTOXICATED exporter supports alpha channels in models? if someone know for sure maybe you could tell me what im doing wrong in 3ds max ive tried tons of various options / combinations but none have worked out yet;
option 1;
main texture to diffuse channel
'alpha texture' to alpha add
option 2;
main texture to diffuse channel
'alpha' texture to alphaadd with blend mode as 'on'
ive tried maybe 14 different combinations of things like this and have not gotten a working model to import a gradual alpha channel change in a model. i dont know very much about all this but the guy i was working with has been modeling for a long time and knew his shit (though he mainly used maya so it was a task getting me to understand 3ds max so we could import)
any help would be MUCHOS APPRECIADOS!!! (Ich spreche nicht Spanisch!!!!!)
RAWR...... so ive been reading all the tutorials i can find on '2ds max and alpha channels' but i cant make it work....
i can at least render it inside 3ds max to see if the alpha channel is working, and its not. does anyone know how to apply an alpha channel in3ds max? heres the 2 bitmaps im using;
i got it to work with the standard 3ds material, not using the sc2material settings. but when i exprted it and imported it, its opaque, its lost its alphaness..... :(
trying to get it to work with the sc2material now...(again)
and ive imported models ingame already so i know its not my method, its apparently a conflict of material settings with the script. if anyone has succesfully gotten the m3exporter to work with alpha channels please let me in on the fun!
EDIT; im trying to play with the settings, most of the alpha settings seem focused on 'team color' (surprise, surprise), but im trying to get it to just basically take a red plane, and fade it out. though i am playing withthe team color settings trying every option / combo i can get.... im trying with 2 imgs as well now instead of the 1 with the alpha channel, heres those images;
