I was digging around and it looks like they do all the scene setup, animations and camera movement in 3ds max or maya and then they export and load it in the previewer, or something like that because i have been looking at the .sc2scene files and the camera that they use is a .m3. The only problem is i tried to load Camera_terran01.m3 into 3ds max and it errors out

That is definitely how they did it, but I don't think the importer/exporter handles cameras at the moment.
Sadly it doesn't handle Cameras. But I think I found a trick. Thanks to Kanaru I now know how to set up the Materials (you're great!) and can try it out. What happens when we use the Portrait Models, grab their PortraitCamera Helper and move it around? Anyone tried that?
