The Tyrant has one major problem: Its anatomy is flawed. If you look at the size of its body and at those tiny legs ... they'd break the first time he tried to walk. Even Zerg are bound to the laws of nature ;) Look at the Ultralisk and the size of its legs compared to that of your Tyrant, you get what I mean =) Besides that, its pretty cool. Though the Diffuse seems a little bit low detail Oo
@Eiviyn:
Yes, and now please look at his frontlegs, and how big they are. He only goes on those tiny ones for about 2 seconds to strike at something. He also puts his whole weight on the third legs. But he doesn't walk around on them. Its like when you stand on your fingertips. You can do that for a few sec, if you're trained, but you can't do that all the time and walking is even harder ;)
@tigerija:
If you make a cinematic, you will see these eyes. And that is the problem ;D
Even fiction abides to the laws of nature. That is what good artists think about. Why the hell do you think you spend about 50% of the two or three years you can study this stuff with anatomy? Because its goddamn important.
Yes, its very good. But its not as good as the stuff from Blizz, because of the Devil is in the details ;D
I can walk on my fingertips(but on my hand fingertips, coz its easier than on legz fingertips for me) :D, w8, gonna try that now. :D
EDIT: OK I did 2 steps and almost broke a finger xD .
BTW too much details in a model can be pain in the ass. For games at least. Coz most of them wont be visible ingame and can be done via normal map or texture.
Yes, that is correct. But those don't go for proportions or the logical arrangement or bones & limbs ;) And the more details you have without hitting the uncanny valley, the better it is.
Triceron, you don't happen to play Tremulous do you? That tyrant looks awful close to the tyrant in that game but the proportions are off and its textured like a zerg, also has that sack on the back. Either way its freaking an amazing model, hats off to ya! If you do play tremulous freaking awesome that game rocks, and your model actually looks eons better then the tyrant in Tremulous(its a quake 3 mod so make sense hahah.)
I hope you continue to make awesome models and units. You should try to remake warcraft 3 models in higher definition. I am sure everyone in the community would love that. The current SC2 models kind of suck for custom games for some reason. Idk war 3 models just seemed better for custom games. Every map released now has to be "futuristic" which I think is lame. Maybe not even war 3 models but just stuff that would break the futuristic cowboy fantasy that is Starcraft 2.
Perhaps you could make the thickness of its legs 1.3 or 1.5 its current size so it doesnt seems so... yeah...
however its quite a cool looking zerg indeed, however what kind of role does it have one might think... Anti-Defense Siege insect with a love for tanks and stationary defenses ?
Yeah that's what starcraft is suppose to be, however I think warcraft 3 models and environment allowed for a much wider range of possible time frame that custom games come from. I just think the fantasy of warcraft 3 fits better with custom games. The futuristic stuff is cool dont get me wrong but I just think that there isnt that wide of a spectrum of stuff you can do. However with custom models anything is possible with this editor. Maybe my view is skewed, I didn't really play war 3 until after TFT came out along with a bunch of new models. It just seems the amount of models in SC2 is well lacking. Hopefully Heart of the Swarm and whatever the protoss expansion changes that. I am also very excited about the new models from Blizz Dota/Auir chef.
There are very few models. I wanted to use hanson and her zerged form but they don't work. There are quite a few different units we could use but they don't work. Also I'm sure we'll get more models later down the line. If you look at any game with custom content the really good stuff doesn't come till later.
Gorandor. . . It's a fucking game who cares. I see things in fiction all the time that are impossible. That's what fiction is for, if everything in fiction had to abide by the laws of nature then half of it wouldn't be fiction. Traveling at the speed of light is impossible, but in plenty of movies they do it. It's just for fun who gives a shit about if his legs are big enough. He could be a floating guy if he wanted, it doesn't matter.

I love them! I think it would be cool if the har had like muta wings or something >.> or maybe like awesome kerrigan hair :D
Can I use the models in a map? Do you have animations set up for them? I just had an idea for a great hero and ability using both of them.
Here's a couple more updates!
Burrow ability now works and has animations. Right now he sticks out of the ground too much, but it should be an easy animation fix.
Wireframe added to Tyrant as well now!
Also updated the front page with better renders of the units, so check em out :)
lawl over 9000
just go to unit height stat of burrowed tyrant and give it -1 or -0.5 and it will be lower
The Tyrant is awesome. I love how the textures are similar to that of other zerg units. It fits right in.
How long have you been modeling, if I may ask?
Triceron, are you going to end him? I wanna to use this unit in my map ^_^

On second thought it is differnt you have 4 legs Tremulous tyrant has 6. Also your head/skull/forhead is massive compared to Tremulous.

@RailTracer: Go
But isn't that what starcraft is, space cowboys? I find it odd when I see people importing models that are medieval.
Why is it strange to see mid-evil?
WC3 had marines in it.... now thats odd...
