Can someone who knows what they are doing with respect to 3DS Max and exporting for SC2 please take a look at the attached 3DS Max file and tell me what I've been doing wrong.
The problem I am having is that every object in the scene exports fine except for the main building and I have no idea why. I am aware that my technique may be off or wrong and I'm okay with that right now, but I would really like to know how to make sure everything exports fine.
That's weird I'd have thought the reason would be that it wasn't a mesh but everything is a mesh. Try attaching them so you only have 1 mesh to export instead of 4. Other than that the scene is incomplete without the textures! :P
It looks like the issue you were having with the farm not exporting is that it did not have a Starcraft 2 Material attached to Farm Object, so simply the exporter didn't recognize it. I always seem to forget the material or converting to mesh the first time i export any project lol.
I had materials applied they just didn't show for you because I didn't include them in the attachment.
um I think you might have misinterpreted my comment, I wasn't referring to the maps I was stating that it was a material error. but it looks like you figured it out on your own.
The reason why the materials didn't show up for you, or me, was because he didn't include the material's textures. If the exporter doesn't find the textures in your 3ds max folder it simply doesn't create sc2 shaders. I simply assumed he did apply them as I got 4 exporter errors about me not having the maps.
How can a mesh have two materials at the same time? :P Only if you used a multi/subobject material but even that way it shouldn't be a problem unless one of them is not a sc2 material type :P
I originally had a roof material applied to the top two faces. In my brief experience I've found that if you apply more than 1 material to different faces of a mesh it won't export at all.

Appreciate the input, problem solved. I somehow had 2 materials applied the house object even though the one wasn't showing. Ah well.
