Yes, "I" can import the new models into Max (currenly testing 2016) because I'm writing the code, but it is far from finished, yesterday I succeeded in decoding the animations.
Since the import of the models itself with correct texture/material mapping is done.
Now I need to apply the vertex weights to the bones, so that the actual mesh moves with the bones,... not very clear on that yet. ONce it is done, it will be publicly available to use.
Sif is definitely a tough opponent

browse EVERY model currently ingame

Hey MouseTaylor,
Are we able to import the Warcraft 3 Reforged models and animations into 3ds max? Is there any script of yours that works for the .mdx files?
regards,

That is amazing, i'm verry glad your working on this already! Keep up the good work.
Update on my script:
- Animations work, some are still kinda weird
- Animation sequences are correctly converted from 1000 fps to 30 fps
- Visibility track is correctly imported ( example for the peon to show/hide the wood/gold )
Many things still need to be done but it is coming along nicely
