If you'd like, I have a version of my avatar that I can make into a game-res head for the model. I had planned to make a Lothar hero myself based on Heroes, but I was never able to get my hands on the assets.
Partially, yes, his head is slightly modified, less hair in the front, and add ed gray hair, not the brown one.
The belt and the right shoulder armor are from the Arthas model and the cape is not a sharp any more but a real cape that I changed
Here is progress on the uv unwrapping, now I need to recolor the texture a bit so it fits better together, also added the decal on the cape and shield, and finished skinning.
Little update for Anduin Lothar
Diffuse Map, Normal Specular and Team Color Map are done
Animation is done, I'm just looking for some hero worthy death animation, or something...
Need to do the sword though :/ no inspiration at this time,...
I see an odd issue with the cloak. Around the folds near the top, you have that weird shading bug going on I had with one of my models in the past when I tried to use m3a's. You can see odd shading for every triangle.
A golden Askhandi? Hell, I'd love to have something like that even standalone as a max file.
odd that the bug disappears ingame. I didn't test that in my case, since I was working on a mesh with 350+ animations and by the time I had it ingame testable I had long abandoned using m3as for it. Whelp, good in your case, at least. Everything I tried otherwise couldn't fix it haha.
How do you model such a complex structure like those details on the guard? I would normally just extrude everything until I get it "looking right", but that detail is much too high for that method to work. Reveal your secrets!
I'd lower the spec of the weapon guard to match the armor a bit more. It has sharper highlights while the armor is more soft, and seems a bit out of place. Looking great, though. :3

woah that will be awesome, i was in trouble with what model to use as Lothar. Can not wait to see the final version :D
@Domper: Go
Thnx :)
Here is a little update
Since the importer did not import the uv's correctly for Lothar I had to do that myself, :/ still the whole body to do...
Hope you like it up till now, colors are still the once from the real model, except his hair, I made that gray... for now

Grand Marshal's Claymore or Decimation IMO
@PirateArcade | I make games | Ask me things on Discord
Or something more conservative like Ashbringer!
The model you made reminds me of Tirion Fordring, so Ashbringer would be a fun sword to go with it
Those shoulderpads are outrageous.

These did cross my mind you know...
@IskatuMesk: Go
Yes I know, I don't know how that comes, but when I test them ingame, it is gone...
I found this in the meantime:
I think this will be the sword I'll be giving our good friend Lothar :)

you've mastered the extrude, now master the target weld, collapse, slice, cut, snap, chamfer and bridge.
Finished the texture on the blade
Busy with the animation...decided to have a separate death animation... working on that now
