If I can make a suggestion when creating the normal maps for WoW models try filter/stylize/diffuse one or two times before using the normal maps tool. This will get rid of some of the rigidness on the normals. It doesn't always look good on some models and I'm sure that's not the best way to make normals but it's pretty fast. :)
Normal map is not what I meant under material. Guess, normal was created in something like zbrsh + xnormals. Material is max'es material. The idea is to create a composite material with some layers, which would add different speculars (green and white), different emissives (standard fresnel to imitate different tone of reflected light and inverted fresnel to imitate less or more grenness on thin and deep parts). Just play with the materials and its parameters you usually don't use, and you'll find nice effects.
OK that's what I use too. Basically before you use the normal map filter tool if you go to the "filter" tab and down to "stylize" and hit "diffuse" it'll smoothen out the texture you have so when you apply the normal filter it'll look a bit cleaner. You can see the differences below in the pictures.
Hi TaylorMouse, you can add the Pathway of starcraft2 editor here.
The star tools for 64bit has it's own extra bugs but most of them won't cause problems. (For example, the PNG image can be read by 32bit tools but 64bit tools can't.)
I like it when you like :p
Yes, I already played with the blades, only thing is, the guy I'm doing the mods for, doesn't want me to screw around with them :/

Added another creep from warcraft 1 - the brigand based on a pretty low poly model from WoW.
Downloadable from my assets. ( when approved )
Oh, and it supports team colors ( yes I know the hair has a small border that contains the team color , but it is not visible in game)

@TaylorMouse: Go
Main body could look more translucent. Also you could then have a bubble particle emitter inside.

Hi guys, serious problem here, I got a new pc, 64 bit, got my SC2 installed on an external disk ( as usual)
Installed MAX2011 again, install art tools 64 bit (previously I had a 32 bit)
now when I try to preview or export my stuf I get the following errror:
Preview failed. SC2Editor exe not found.
Where does the SC2Editor have to go? Or do I need to upgrade to 64 bit version of some kind...
HELP is very much appreciated.

Alright, I followed GhostNova's advice, and I actually did not use a diffuse map on the slime, but a sc2color and it looks a lot better imo

As you can now see though it you may want to touch up the weapons impaled into it.
