Finally gotten somewhere with my Diablo III import script with animations included, still much too do but I tried it out on one of the cool characters :)
Yeah, I didn't change anything on the model or the texture, it is exactly as you encounter him in Diablo III I guess, also there are no specular maps and normal maps, so you need to do them yourself.
Maybe I'll remove the chains from the wrist, it does kinda look,... cheap :)
A lot of work before you can actually get him in SC2 though... :/
Yeah D3 uses seperate compiled vertex shaders, probably giving it that cool D3 specific look. Maybe I should take a look at it in stead of creating these normal and specular maps myself
Here is another character, changed the script so it imports the appearance files in Max in the correct size ( SC2 size) and changed the animation script so it is applied correctly to the models. Still an issue with the hand bones, for now I remove them so they don't look weird :/
Here she is: ( once she has all the sc2 requirements, i'll upload the model)
Finally got the import script correct, so the model faces the correct direction and has the correct size
Fine tuning the animation script on this resized model.
Lol, the Cretos is for someone that asked me to do some alternate Protoss Zealots, the heads need to be different and now I'm working on a female zealot.
Yeah the 404 on my assets keeps returning and don't know why.
And for what reason a SC2 custom should be top down view only? If you dispose the wow/D3 model in right way, they do works well in SC2. I do few of wow model export works but I already knew that.

Diablo 3 had many rare chest variants eg. arreat crater had chests that looked like the demonic casks found in the area.
Also it seems to be lacking the emissive or is that a separate model?

Nice detail on the lips. Should the tattoos be sunken and not raised?

@DrSuperEvil: Go
Agreed but I think that's done cause it's just an RTS like view.
@TaylorMouse: Go
It looks really good! If it gets working really well I'll have to try and port a few models.

Any idea how the lighting in D3 is done then if they lack specular/normals?
Or a physics issue.
My brother says D3 has separate files for shader data. Maybe this could be somehow used to generate normal/specular maps?

Again major normal textures are lacking making her look a bit flat on her embroidery.

I couldn't help but notice a few WIP pics of Cretoss in your assets page. What are you adding on to him?
Also you get a 404 error if you try to download the roach marine XD

it seems lots of assets on sc2mapster died and get 404 errors, this happened to my nanakey and Delphinium mods and CastleUlrezaj mod too.
Excellent work btw, it's really nice to have d3 models in SC2.
its like having WoW models in SC2, they werent ment to be in Strategy game and they look bad and harder to play with since they arent fat gnomes. :/
@TwoDie: Go
Why you think that way? These WOW models do work well in SC2 custom mods and we also don't need to keep RTS elements in all maps.
im not thinking, its a known fact. They are made for FPS games not for Top Down View.

here it is the animation import script!!
Download here: My Assets
(could be possible to wait a while cause it needs to be accepted first :/ )
There is a dummy ( which is hidden) that has the animation name, start and end frame , just check the objects properties.
Feedback is always welcome.
