Busy on him, just deciding which animation to add and which not..
Fixed the head, I did find a few bugs on it :/ and his upperlip in the original blizzard texture is soo small I had to add some additional polys to make it work..
Current animations are
Walk
Run
Unload
Unload End
Stand
Stand 02
Stand 03
I'll add some other basic animations before I release the MAX file. After that everybody can use it or add what they want.
these will probably include:
Death
Death 02
Turn Left
Turn Right
Attack
Attack 02
Spell
I'm also planning to add an additional set of animations for when he holds long weapons, or heavy weapons, like a machine gun, but that will probably be a version 2 or something :p
What about all the original animations with the model? I'm sure worst case scenario we can just .m3as from it but just curious as to what happened to the original ones.
Yes, well, not yet, but I was busy doing a sword model, and use that as a reference for some melee attacks, also, if you have an idea on what kind of melee attack you prefer, please do tell :)
Here is a little sneak peek on the weapon I'm working on, it is a 2 handed one, but it could be used as a one hander ( a big one)
it is based on one of Wildstar's weapons
Was just thinking of a classic unarmed combat spread like from any generic action movie/game. At least until the unit finds gear if ever.
Nice start! Is that an animation bracket that makes him hold up his arms like that defensively? Could certainly imagine a shield attached to the forearm if so.
Lol, yeah I know, I just want lots of animations so that people can choose what kind of character it will be, and select just those animations they want for their character.
Once this set of melee style animations is done, I'll post the max file so anyone can add stuff or break stuff :)
I like it but I think the handle needs to be a tad smaller or the blade a bit longer cause now it looks more like a dagger. Otherwise it's pretty starcraft 2ish and the handle somewhat reminds me of Zelda's master sword handle.

Yeah, that haymaker is definatly on the list :) And some kicks too, was thinking of about 5 attacks or so, some kung-fu moves or something
I used to do some kickboxing back in the day, so the arms are always up for defense

You can always add them as a .m3a later for different fighting styles. Also you do not want your average thug to be a professional fighter.

Wildstar swords are the exact definition of "bulky". So, I find this one pretty accurate.
Either way the character is going to need power armour or a can of vitamin x to wield those.
