How can the impact location be modified for a missile?
I have a spell that is launched from a flying caster. Instead of the spell missile traveling FROM the caster DOWN to the ground and explode, I want it to travel FROM the caster and explode in the AIR at the targeted location. So it does not move downard at all!
Is it the mover, the attachment points at the caster, the event field at the actor, or something else that determines this?
You can try to use a site operation for this. There is an existing one called SOpTargetUnitZ, which would set the height to the height of the target unit. Obviously, thats not very useful here, but you can create a copy of that and change the unit to Source or Caster. Then just add your newly created SOpCasterUnitZ to your action actor's impact POINT site operations.
The Action actor dictates the Site actor used to launch from.
Sadly the Site actor type is nonresponsive to the SOp (Local Offset) SOp so you need a Model type actor using the Invisible model or a Set Opacity (0) event that hides the attachment model which has the site hosted on it.
If the model has an attachment point where you want to launch from ignore the previous paragraph.

Look how the emp of the ghost does it. Add the SOp to the Action type actor.

Thank you for your help.
Just a quick question: How do I get the missile to be launched from the casters head/body?
Right now it is launched under the caster, from the ground..
Is it the casters actor, the missile mover, or something else I need to look at?
The Action actor dictates the Site actor used to launch from.
