So I wrote a stupid little sketch to test out some of the cutscene editor properties and some of the methods I am going to use for my new series (the head bobbing and video editing process primarily).
It's not finished, but only because I'm too lazy to get together with my partner and put the finishing touches on it and I'm already writing and animating the actual series. Someday I will finish it up and release it...probably.
Here's the list of things missing:
Needs a lot of tweaking as far as volume levels, need to get back at my editor on those.
Also missing a few sound effects and visual effects.
Voice acting will be redone in some sections (one line peaked, another I just don't like).
Jump cut timing slightly off...also on the editor
I'm looking for help moving forward on these projects. Any amount of help will be appreciated. My main weakness is my artistic inability, I can't make a pretty looking set. If anyone wants to help out in any way, please PM me. I can't pay but I will gladly pimp your name out hardcore in the credits and post links to your own personal projects in the description of any video you help out with.
Well, I'm not making these for custom games so the scene is broken up into multiple maps to make it easier on the editing process. I'm getting better at it and will soon consolidate the process but to look at the files for this project is an absolute mess (some of them are completely broken except for one shot I wanted to capture). I will post one later though that shows off the marines.
For all the characters I am essentially animating it like an older cartoon. I slow down the stand animations so they are almost completely still, then i use a mix of speeding up, slowing down, and animation blending to hack around with the premade animations and make them look like they are doing something else. Mostly it's just speeding up and slowing down the stand animation.
I made those movements before the audio was recorded as well. Sometimes they needed tweaking, but most of them time you don't want them to bob around exactly with the words anyway because it looks unnatural (something I've learned from previous machinima projects).
I'm not some super awesome supreme terrainer guy or anything, but I'd be happy to work on your terrain for you! I found the skit very funny, reminded me quite a lot of Red vs Blue. If you're interested in my help just send me a pm or something with what exactly you'd like.

I actually have just found a Terrainer/Set Designer who is working very well with me right now, but thanks for the offer! What I do need is someone who is experienced in skinning models and someone who wants to take over the animation completely. I honestly just want to write the damn thing, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Ahaha that was good. What did you do to animate the marines so nicely while they talk? And would you mine posting the actual cinematic file?
