a few days ago i was bored so i looked up the texture editing to play with the marine texture. Now i loaded it into gimp edited it and saved it as DDS and imported it into SCII as well as a clone of the marine to put it on.
now heres my problem: i dont use 3dsMax and need to be able to attach the texture, but i cant find the data editor button to do so :( the best i can find in the data editor is the DARK protoss textures.
if anyone can help thatd be great :D
As far as I know a single model can't have different textures. I might be wrong though. Both the dark Protoss their own models, which are identical to the originals but with different textures. Same goes to the different civilians.
thankyou for the replys - my problem is that id like to have a diffrent model (ive duplicated and renamed the marine) but to still have the original marine available ?

I think you have to import the textures under the same name as the marine texture so that it will overwrite that texture. I may be mistaken.

p.s. @ eternalwratih sorry ill do that next time
Open model file with notepad, search for the original texture file, replace it with your new one (the name, that is), save and import.
So for example search for Textures\Terran\Marine\Marine.dds
And replace it with the name of your file, for example ROFLOLMYFIRSTSKINZ.dds
@DisAs7ro: Go
thanks ill try that :D
