I have a map where the lowest point has some objects that I want to appear far away. Now I have used cliffs, however there are only around 6 levels of cliffs, so that alone will not get the lowest level of ground far away from the highest cliff.
What is the best way to make the lowest level very far down?
I can use the terrain tools to simply lower the mesh on that level and pretty much go as far away as I want. Is it okay to do this?
Alternatively, is there somewhere where I can set the height of each cliff level? I noticed that my first cliff actually steps up two heights, then one for each other cliff.
The other thing I have considered is hiding the tiles on the lowest level and perhaps creating a low water level to use as the base, this means I don't need to mess around with terrain levels
Yeah I tried modify height field, it didn't seem to do anything to the relative cliff heights. I think I will just remove the textures and sort something out that way, seems the quickest/easiest. Thanks.

Any advice would we welcome.

You can try using Data > Modify Height Field... and set that to something really high.
Otherwise, just delete the map tiles and place a doodad/whatever on the bottom, and use PgDown to move it down some more
