Site (Actor)
Site
Description
Site actors act as a saved location that other actors can reference, usually from Host - Launch and / or Host - Impact fields. They are commonly used in Beam (Simple) and Action actors to determine the start and end point of a beam or projectile path. There are three types of Site actors, each with their own unique properties. The Site type of site actor is a stationary point that needs to be created on a model attachment point. The Site Operation (Local Offset) has no effect on this type of actor.
Example Usage
Colossus Attack
The colossus attack is a commonly referenced attack when it comes to site actors because of its uniqueness and complexity.
Phoenix - Graviton Beam
This is an example of an ability that uses site actors.
Tutorial : OneTwoSC's Shotgun Weapon (URL)
This is a tutorial explaining how to make a shotgun-style weapon which involves using site actors. A good basic introduction to site actors.
Tutorial : ProzsaicMuze Attachment Tutorials (Beginner, Advanced)
These tutorials are more geared towards attachments, but attachments are very related to site actors and site operations, and the tutorials do include creating some site actors themselves.

DrSuperEvil Dec 24, 2011 at 16:45 UTC - 0 likesDo not forget that the Site (Mover) and Site (Rocker) actor types get their own pages.
You will find most fields are generic and perform the same functions or are redundant as tthose under the same name found in the Model type actor. Only real fields of interest are the hosting and events+.
The phase mine ability of zeratul's ship is a good example in that is unique in that it links a site to the location of a dead actor to form a cluster rocket.
