Overview
Hey everyone! Ya, so I am TacoManStan. Ok I'm already bored, so I am going to skip the boring stuff and just get right into the action!
Gameplay
I just realized that the last section wasn't really much of an overview. Oh well, I will fix that later. Anyways, there are a couple of main parts of the game.
- Tug of War
- Hero Arena
- Micro
- Macro
- Tower Defense
So ya, that is what the map is designed to do, to fit the needs of any kind of player. If you want to sit back and chill, than go ahead! If you want to micro up and destroy the enemy, go ahead! One thing is that no matter what path you choose, whether it be lazy man or micro master, you have to know what you are doing.
For example, the Tug of War gameplay. My guess is that to succeed in this, you need an average APM of around 30+. Ya, I know. Pretty ridiculous. I will get into more about that later.
The TD portion is going to be more of a bonus to other playstyles. You cannot win by only going TD. However, you can use the TD gameplay to create defenses while you bide time and macro up.
The micro option is obvious. Your units spawn more slowly, but will be controllable. The layout is designed so that you must control tactical locations with your units and heroes. Ok, now onto the specifics of these and other aspects of the game.
Tug of War
This is the primary part of the game. To go the route of TD, micro, or macro, you must start out with Tug of War. There are 4 sides of the map. Each side is a base, and each base has 2 players. These players are a team. So, hang on, never been good at math... 2x4.... 8 Players! There are 8 players in total. You maybe choose which enemy to attack. If you choose the first player of a team, you will attack one side of their base. If you choose the other, you will attack the other side of the base. This is good for splitting up your units and what not.
Micro
Tug of War Spawners may be upgraded to Mirco Spawners. Micro units will spawn 50% slower, but will be fully controllable. The rest is pretty simple. Use the units you spawn to kill stuff.
Macro
You have the option to take control of tactical locations on the map. These are risky to take, similar to expansions in melee games. Expanding is incredibly useful, when you don't die doing it.
Tower Defense
Just like Micro, Tug of War Spawners can be upgraded to be TD Spawners. These will spawn units 25% slower, but will spawn units on the cliffs in your base and other "TD Zones" that have been captured. These units will be uncommandable, and will stay near their initial location. They CAN MOVE, but will return to their original location if they stray too far. This strategy is to be used primarily with other strategies, particularly macro and hero arena.
Hero Arena
You get one hero. It would be stupid not to use it, as it is incredibly powerful and will level as the game goes on. You can win with just your hero, but it is almost impossible. You should use your hero with another strategy. All strategies go will with the hero. TD, Micro, Macro, and Tug all go nicely with your hero, so there is no pressure to focus on a particular area if you want to use your hero.
Well that is it! I hope to get this into beta in about a month, so stay tuned!
