In what way do they stack? When I noticed that the Level 1 and Level 2 debuffs were different icons on the affected creature, I started to think that level 1 and 2 stacked together.
From what I noticed they slow incoming creatures for some reason. Anyway a combination of 3 lurkers, 8-9 slow towers, 3-4 hydras , 1 lightning and 1 tank fully upgraded owns the normal mode :)
I only noticed the stack by complete accident, but I think it really adds more strategy to the entire thing, especially later on in the game. It's much more difficult to progress further without having Hydra Towers all over the map to make sure I'm getting bonuses, and I would eventually need to put a few extra towers to stack for maximum bonus.
I think the reason some people might see these towers as OP is because some other towers aren't necessarily that useful for progressing, while Hydra Towers are a necessity for the debuff they give (the entire point of TD games is that you need to strategize a bit to get through, usually through buffs and debuffs to maximize the towers you do have, and not letting raw power suffice alone).
