Empires & Nations

title

An RTS map, E&N 1 allows you to construct your own nation, and if you're powerful, your own empire. First you choose your race, and additional bonuses you may be allowed to choose. Then, with a pioneer unit, you locate an area to build your capital. Ideally this area will have minerals to jumpstart your economy... and for most of the early game, be your economy entirely. From then on, it's all up to you - expand? Develop a stable economy? Tech up? Build an army? Conquer others and build an empire?

The map also includes AI, which provide a challenge even to good players of E&N. This is already published on EU. I haven't published it anywhere else, so no need to reupload to EU servers.

    Protoss is really imba. Tax is really stop development of terran. Delete tax or add tax to protosses

    Hi, Anteep. First i want to say i like this map. Its very interesting and u never will sit at 1 place. This map dinamic. After protoss had been back i always play protoss. I think protoss is stronger then terran so need to fix balance. My win rate at this map higher 90% how i think. I always play alone or with my friend but never play 2vs1. Much times i won alone vs more than 3 people. I have good apm and tactic thoughts (and im master-league at ladder so ithink its help me much). 1. At the start protoss always loose if hes base will be near terran's, becouse terran base make damage. 2. Terrans mosquitos bad vs carriers, at that reason protoss stronger than terran at air. At the end game all make only air. Its very important, becouse much people go in fast carriers + upgreads and defeat others easy. 2.1 Only centrys with shield + arhonts is contra to mass cariers. 3. Voidreys always destroy buildings (dont capture them) 4. Delete miners its useless, and make scv could mine. Miners cost too much tax. 5. At the start terran have shortage tax. But at midlle and endgame he no need so much tax. Tax is accumulate. 6. Nobody play with AI. 7. Need to make public chat channel!!!!! 8. Easy to win with mass warp gate push at start and premiddlegame. Find me at EU EVA#652. Channel empire

    Good to see Protoss back, and i totally agree with the outreach cannon's nerf. I'm really in to this map, however i got lot of trouble defending against carriers. even with the late mech i still get owned by them. anyone got issues with that ?

    It's good to have feedback guys.

    Just to let you know, this map was made in 2010, so it's pretty old now, lol, and was made when I was quite a noob with the editor. The map was popular once, and has always seemed to have a playerbase, but I definitely didn't expect see its resurgence lately. When (or if, depending on the time I have) I get around to updating this, I'll take into consideration what you and other players have said to further improve the map, plus I will update things (such as units, triggers, and silly bugs) to match what I now understand about the editor.

    It's funny about those Outreach cannons, quite a few players have expressed their "love" for them. They do need nerfing indeed. I've also heard about the Pathfinder strategy, which is simply about spamming pathfinders.

    I also want to add a few new races (such as the Undead... unusual, I know, but I think it could be interesting), and re-introduce the Protoss.

    Because people are playing the map again it feels like it's my duty to update it, haha. (Try out Empire Builder too, it's my most recent map, but I haven't updated it in months)

    Yes ive also played a few games where a player stacks 7-8 outrange cannons and there is no way to get near him. Although i would not suggest removing it, is suggest nerfing the minimum range AND their hp. The only viable strat ive come up with us mass drops and maybe some bee's to try to take them down. This one game i came in with 8 dropsships stacked with rifle/laserinfantry and one other dropship with a nukesquad, 3 nukes in base. The result of the drop was that my entire rifle/laser army got pretty much insta-blown-up by the cannons i wasnt standing on top of and the THREE nukes only managed to kill one turret (the one i focused with inf.)

    So anyways: A solution would be (1) change the range to somthing about 50-100, i think the range is atm 10-100. And (2) nerf the hp to a quarter of what it is, i think they are suppost to be fragile artillery, not a damn fortress.

    Larstheman is showing why he is the man. After 10 games played, I agree with all his remarks and would like to add one more to that:

    PLEASE remove the huge cannons. They are way too OP in lategame. Just putting down some structures that instantly kill everything once you get vision is just no fun way to win or to get owned by.

    For the rest, you've created a magnificent game, got lots of hours in to it. Even got owned by lars once.

    Hi, ive been playing this map about 20 times and i can say for sure its my favorite map, although it have some issues.Not to brag but ive become the real pro at this mod and have won about 14/15 of my last games and i think a have a fair amount of sense of were the errors lie. I will propose a solution to every issue i adress.

    Issue: Milita/conscrips add up to fast earlygame. In every game ive played, i could just press out ever singe milita and conscript i could manage and attack with about 80 of them, a-click a capital and capture it before they can even press "war". -Solution: I would suggest making it so milita and conscripts can only defend your base from rushers. Make the cooldown to about 2 minutes and make about 20 milita/conscrips spawn, then also die after 2 min so you can mass them.

    issue and solutin: Hives create a lot of lagg and they dont reall do much exsept for beeing annoying. Buff the zombie you get from testsubjects by a little (although there is a bug where you can spam "convert to zombie" and get 5*the amount, i suggest a 2sec sonversionprogress) and remove the hive :'(

    Issue: getting two capitals early on is to big of an advantage, your rec income about doubles. I dont know if this really is the case, but i always have about unlimited rec when i capture a secound capital. -Solution: Simple as pie (if pie was simple) , you dont get anything extra but a stationary turret and a place to create workers/miners from capturing a new capital. This would balance out the game so one player dont snowball when getting capitals. Also i would suggest hitting your standard mineralincome with the nerfbat. Stacking mines and mining minerals just isnt putting your economy as ahead as it should be.

    Issue: Balanceissues: Riflemen and lasers is to powerful. For their cost, they are way to powerful, it takes about 5 upgraded riflemen to kill a concueror tank, witch have about 20 times the cost and only + is that it can move and shoot, and it cant even shoot air. Guncars (i think its called that) cant do shit exsept for move fast, gets mowed down by 3 upgraded riflemen. You need a LOT of SAM's (missil turrets) to take down a air force. I think they need to be buffe up about 30%. -Solution: Give all the tanks splash dmg, that would give us a real counter to mass infantry and make them worth it, also increase their range by about 1 so they can kite some. Buff the guncars dmg, i think as much as 50-70% is needed, its really really really bad. I like the airbalance, they get owned by infantry (witch they are suppost to) but have the advantage that they can be everywhere at once and own mech.

    issue: Credits, i feel like this is a halfway-done rec in the game, you lack it in the start and have more then enough mid and lategame. -Solution: I have no good solution, its a good rec so people cant rush 10 barracks and overwhels you with riflemen 7 minutes in to the game (although this happends with milita/conscripts). Id suggest you lower the income to increase with maxpop, maby so something like 600+maxpop.

    Well that sure was a wall of text, but i think these changes needs to be done in order to make the game more balanced. I dont wanna sound like a whinwagon because honestly i think its THE best costum game in all of sc2, it just needs some modefications to be balanced.
