Adventures of Goku Firebat: CH5 - The Temple

    Join the adventure with goku firebat! Goku firebat travels to planet char looking for kerrigan, but how will the fight end? Who will triumph to be the strongest?....

    ps. My attempt of going cinematic (DBZ style). I guess its far from perfect, but I couldnt record sounds from the game so I just added some music to it.

    Ok those custom abilities you made there are epic

    Kamekameha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fucking amazing spell effect you made there

    You could really use some real DBZ models =) or maybe just use wow models to make them look like dbz characters...

    Thanks guys. Im fine with the firebat model, I just like it and im gona use it for a long time.

    Started working on chapter 2. It will propably have more cinematics and more epicnes.

    I also have a plot somewhat planned out, so I guess ill try to go for a cinematic series for now and try to build up some abilities that I can later use if I want to create a game from this.

    Maybe its just me, but I don't like the kamehameha graphics that much. Looks a little awkward to me. The other spells are nice, but the charge and especially the beam graphics could use a little tweaking imo. Also the firebat model dos not really have any useful animations to support this; maybe a more dynamic model would be better (optimum would be obviously a model which has an animation where it puts its arms together and behind his back and another one where it releases the arms to the front ;) )
    Try the Psionic Lash Chargeup model for charging, I like that quite much. As for the shockwave, dunno, but something... bigger? more flashy?

    Chapter 2 is going quite well. Its already around 2-3mins cinematics and all I need to do now is the ending! Should be out by the end of the week.

    This is awesome! I agree with Kueken, I think there might be a better Kamehameha effect in the editor. But this is awesome!

    I think chapter 2 turned out to be quite good, alltought it still has many flaws. Im still quite newbie with cinematics, so Im still hoping to improve myself.

    If you have ideas for spells feel free to share them (I already had 1 good idea from someone that im going to use :) ).

    I had to record the video in several parts, so the transissions to another scenes are not totally smooth, bare with me...

    Pretty neato! :) Really nice job on this one, can't wait to see chapter 3 :)

    Edit: What kind of spell ideas are you looking for? Spells that have already been made in the series, or a brand new spell from scratch? If the answer is (B) then I'm your man. :) 2 ideas.

    (1) How about a spell where he jumps up and charges straight at the target ground area and punches the ground which bashes enemies and stuns them for a short time?

    (2) How about a spell like MAAR's? He creates a big explosion that hurts enemies and pushes them away from him?

    kueken, you got tough standards, lol.

    Seems to me that the angle hes trying to work here is DBZ styled SC2. I think you definitely need to find a way to incorporate camera work into this, wheres that signature camera panning from head-to-toe or toe-to-head that DBZ uses. It just aint the same!

    I think the firebat is the closest thing to a unit that has its arms in front of him for a blast, good choice. Archon would also work, but too flashy to use as a main character, better for a powered up boss. Some other units would be medic and tassadar.

    The super saiyan powering up could use some earth shaking goodness too, like a pushback effect and camera movement.

    Great work so far, especially the large assortment of actual usable skills. I could help you color the Firebat textures in a way that makes him look more goku-like, if you want. Or other units to make them less situational based.

    Ill have to make new spells for every new episode to keep the series from getting repeative. The spells should be usable in someway too in normal game, cause I like to make spells that I can use later (Im thinkin of creating a game based on this once I finish the cinematic series)...(so maybe not some yber flashy spells, I might make exceptions tough).

    I kinda made 1 new spell for the CH2 and modified 2 spells to look different....Getting fresh spell ideas is the key to keep the series interesting. Naturally not all Ideas turn out good...I had 1 more spell for CH2 but it just looked plain bad I decided not to use it.

    I also could have done beam collission, but It might not look as good as it sounds (+ its not the easiest thing to do). Maybe Ill have to do it if I dont get any more ideas :/

    How bout a spell that rapid fires energy blasts into an area, kinda like the Hero Battlecruiser ability. Or an ability where you charge energy shown as a glowing ball, and then toss it at the enemy for AOE damage. Shouldn't be too hard to implement, but it fits with the lore.

    Iv been working like 10h with movers and stuff and still havent gotten anything useful (God I hate movers)....

    I guess there is a limit how much you can do with the effects and animations given...So if you got any ideas you should post them. I might not be able to make them, but maybe they help me out figure out something new.

    I still have managed to make 2 mins for CH3, but I would say its about half finished so I need like 2-3mins more...

    Summary:

    • Tried doing abilities, failed and need ideas!

    lol I wonder what striked me now...I managed to gather my toughts together and Im quite happy with the results...hoping to get CH3 done in couple of days...

    I think it is the best chapter so far. Im not sure yet if Im still going to continue the series. Obviosly I have planned more stuff on future chapters, but there is only so much you can do with the units animations and effects without getting the repeative.

    Well just give me some feedback and Ill see what I can do next.

    wow... i really like your goku story. very random, cheesy, all over the place but i found it very funny somehow lolz. Maybe your sense of randomness is along my wavelength. Hoping to see more episode.

    Very nice fast paced combat, I like it. The only thing that seems not so great is the ''boss'' battles. They seem too short and not that epic.
