    With the success of our first night we wanted to continue, and most people wanted us to stick with the name so here it is!
    This will be the official thread for Custom Live, here you can post comments and thoughts on the show, recommend maps/replays and other map review videos.

    Here is just a few things we will be doing:

    • Live Game nights, here we will be playing all sorts of maps and stream them live for you to view. Complete with commentaries and bad jokes!
    • Live Casual Play, we will stream just about everything we play (I know I will), I might suck but hey, this is the Internet, so its not that bad is it...
    • Other live events, when Mapster (vjeux) is hosting a tournament, we are the first one to step up and provide a stream. We don't say no because he is French!
    • Map making/tutorials, when we feel like it we will show us creating maps, this might be interesting or a utter failure. Its something to watch, and you might get inspired!
    • Streaming you! Have a video review on YouTube, but not getting out? Well we can stream those also (with your consent) just give us the link for it!
    • More? Probably yes, but thats for the future, we probably come up with new things all the time!

    And all this will come at you... well right now!
    Both Xaragoth and myself have everything set up and good to go, this is a combined stream so there will be a bigger chance to catch something live.

    We will also try and put a message up when we are not live streaming on the video, that will reduce some confusion ;)

    So lets get to it, got suggestions for maps throw them down below, we will try and get as many in as possible. (Currently EU only)
    If your map is not hosted and you just want it shown you can send it to this e-mail sc2tinman@gmail.com here I can download the map and privately host it (locked) and try it out. (Note: Localization problems might occur so try to get those sorted out first )

    I will embed the live stream in a post below, here is also a direct link for it: http://www.livestream.com/sc2customlive?t=564224

    (This thread/post will change for updates, so check back regularly)

    I'll go ahead and suggest my map again. We played it last event, well, a splinter group did. It was great fun, or at least I thought so (but I may be biased). I haven't really played much else except Starlocks and Hide 'n' Seek, when played at last event, so I really don't have anything else to suggest.

    It's six player so if there's a lot of people it might not be the best choice, or people will need to split up into 2 groups.

    It is already published on EU servers, so that's a plus. I've also done a fair bit of testing so there shouldn't be any major bugs.

    See the link in my signature for some video of the map.

    Final Fantasy VII map should be played again as it was bugged when it was first tried.
    THE Card Game and Fortress Fight are both great maps.
    Kerrigan's Ultimate Wars Arena is also nice map.

    There is tons other great maps from other map authors but I have not really played them much as nobody would join to lobby in public game or to put it rather, very unlikely even if wait hours.

    Well I know my map was an utter failure the other night, but I think the Localization issues have been sorted out now! So, if you get a chance, please give Golem Wars Classic another chance. I'm very dedicated to making the map the best it can be and true to the original, while being accessible to a new audience, and I'd really like to improve it in any way I can (given I have the time to make updates). It should be somewhere on the EU map list now, I have no way of telling how well it's doing there. If you find any issues with it, please contact me on IRC or via the Facebook community page, and I'll make sure I address any issues for the next build.

    @Saeris:

    I will look at the map when this Battle.net issue is fixed, searching and stuff like that is totally messed up for me and even restarting the game does not work. I have no idea what they have done but its not working.

    I did play your map again later against the AI when the bug was supposed to be fixed (it was still not), I like Golem Wars maps, but its hard to understand what to do if all the description is just param/value/65784645

    I will load it up after this break and play it if I manage to find it with this bug going on...

    The live stream should no longer be capped at 50 users.
    Though its now limited to... unlimited amount :P

    That means everyone gets the chance to watch, no one can hijack slots and what not, tournaments will be EPIC, and our game nights will be incredible.

    Oh, yeah, I am awake now so I will start streaming again when I have gotten some food ;)
    So if you want to play send me a message in-game on Tinman.568

    @Nashadun:

    I tried multiple times today to play Fringe. It crashes on me every time I try or rather it throws me out. Are you preloading a lot of stuff? Or is there anything inside that could make it load forever?

    @Saeris:

    Remove the Loadscreen! :P

    @Clord:

    Has it now anything else besides boring terrain and near to none gameplay? If its now on the level of lets say the old LOTR maps, I'm willing to play that again. Because those were a lot of fun.

    Do we have the Kerrigan map? I'm not sure if its around oO I'll take a look.

    @Gorandor:

    He did fix the loading screen, I think he said the map is 2,5 now instead of 6,5.

    We also did play Fringe, we played the map to the finish, though 3 people dropped we managed to finish it.

    A lot of people drop. Just tried doing it the 8th time today. 2 Dropouts. Something IS bugged.

    Live Game Night tomorrow (Friday 27th) at 16:00 UTC (18:00 CET/GMT+2 - 11:00 EST)
    Make sure to tune in on the live show, and also get your maps suggested!
    As always we will try to play as many maps as possible, we will be taking questions and requests during the sow.

    OH! And I have set up my laptop with a studio (yeah!) and my own computer with a working streamer and sound (!), that way we can have multiple cameras that we can switch between.

    I hope to see you all there!

    If you dont want to play it i can just keep it here lol. I dont appreciate the automatic assumption that there are things that must be changed. I was just trying to be nice and give you guys a preview as the map is very popular, even tho its only in closed beta.

    I think the map looks like fun, and don't listen to Xara he has no niceness left in him :p

    #19 Aug 27, 2010 at 07:48 UTC - 0 likes

    @Bounty_98:

    The assumption that you don't have something you could change is always wrong. There are ALWAYS ways to make something better. And its a Beta, for sure you got things to change. Otherwise it'd be a Gold Master. And even those get patches.

    As I said, we can take a look at it. But just from watching the video I've seen multiple issues that come to my mind when looking at it. And I guess when playing, I'll see even more stuff that you could change to improve your gameplay. Some of them are the same as with your Haunted Temple map, but since you're using the most of its ideas & mechanics, its only natural that those would also occur on this map. From looking into the thread, some of them have already been posted.

    Yeah, well. Its up to you. I don't mind playing it and giving it a review. I enjoyed playing Haunted Temple, but it had its problems. And those were also pointed out by Revenant in his review later on. I'll probably enjoy Doodad Hunt too, but again, I'll throw a lot of issues that I see at you. What you make of it, is your own problem.
