    Introduction

Power Towers is a remake of a Warcraft 3 map (which I haven't played). It is a Tower Defense type map; players must build defensive buildings that shoot and kill at enemies passing by. There are total of 70 levels, each level gets harder and harder. What makes this a unique TD map is that players must build Power Towers that powers. These power towers act like Pylons giving power to Photon Cannons. Take a look at the picture below:

PowerTower_info You can see, there are beams of light connecting different Towers. Players manually connect their power towers to attacking towers. There are all kinds of Power and attacking towers providing many ways to play the map! A good way to understand it: Each attacking tower uses 2 energy points every time they shoot. The beams constantly regenerates a tower x energy per second. Players can upgrade their towers making them attack hard, use more energy points.

    My thoughts

I have never played a TD like this before. Instead of recharging infinite attacking towers, players must power them from Power towers. Many fun challenges comes out of this: a. As you upgrade towers, they use up more energy forcing you to make more power towers, b. some towers have a energy cap and c. some enemies are strong against certain kinds of attacking towers. I have talked to the map creator himself and unfortunately he does not have time to update the map (college and job). If anyone is interested in updating the map, he told me he would give the map to me to work on it with a team. We would work on certain things like providing more options in the early levels.

    7 out of 10

Conclusion: This is a unique TD map which has been ported nicely to SC2. It has lots of potential and room for improvment but the map maker is too busy to update.
