I don't play a lot of custom games, it seems. Searched in the Arcade and found it there! :p
I like the briefing window. A tad too texty, perhaps, but that's just a small gripe. How did you get Mengsk's mouth to move?
There is a level of professionalism to the map, which is cool. The problem with that is that it can end up feeling like show-off if there are aspects that don't meet the same level. The terrain is boring, for instance (yes, I know it's just alpha).
I don't know, not much to say, I guess, considering the short length. I'll echo what's been said before, though: Feel free to take liberties if it improves the map. I remember reading in Empire magazine about a film adaptation that ends halfway through the book! Can't remember the title, though it's not really important.
@EivindL: Go I know the briefing is a little too long now. Since I have that planet page I think I can remove the part Mengsk describes it. To make a portrait's mouth move you need to edit the sound you're going to use. Check unit's sounds and the campaign's transmissions: Every entry in a sound data has the file's name in the Facial Animation field (I'm not sure that's the name of the field). So if you make a new sound and want the mouth to move, you simply search for a sound file with the length you need and use it for your new sound. I created "silent" sounds for each portrait I'm using in my briefings.
Thanks for saying there's professionalism in it. I do put a lot of work to polish everything. Once the briefing is finished I'll put all my efforts in the mission and the units. Everybody seems to think it's best to stray from the book if needed, and now I'm more inclined to do so. So it was great to publish an alpha test and have all the feedback here.
I want to make the briefing as polished and interesting as possible, because I'll use it for future missions of this mini-campaign, abd possibly other campaigns as well. Right now I'm trying the suggestion to make the characters' pages green instead of blue, and they look nice, I'll update the map in a fdew days with them and the new Skip button.
The new version is online, skip button added, screenshots are now green (except for the planet screenshot, I'll finish it later). And I made some visual improvements to the briefing. I'm not sure I should consider the briefing dialog finished though. I know I still have to add more screenshots when Mengsk describes the mission, it will surely mae it more interesting.
