I heard players will be able to guy cosmetic gear for their heroes just like in Dota 2 and the others. They're probably organizing all that.

No more easy, acessible assets for sc2 maps then? I believe we will have a lot of work to do once it's released to use those assets.
Damn and I planned to start playing moba games because it was part of sc2.
Eh, should still be playable in sc2 - I think they're just working on people not needing sc2 itself to play it (Not needing the sc2 art/sound assets and unit data that is - I'm pretty damn sure it'll still be using the sc2 engine, we can see that they made a lot of editor changes with blizzard allstars in mind, and iirc you can find blizzard-allstars mentioned somewhere in your player profile in the HotS beta).
I think it's a good idea - Everything points at it still being included in sc2, but being able to get blizzard allstars without sc2 is a good move, not only from a business perspective but a players as well - We're gonna have more people to play with, so shorter queues and the bigger the playerbase the more effort they're going to put into developing it further, likely meaning more heroes and therefore more assets / editor changes for us mappers to use :)
Plus, if they're adding a system like fulla said (buying cosmetic gear), it might be something they will add to the Arcade as well, allowing us to sell bonus content for our maps. (Which I highly prefer over selling entire maps - I'd rather have some form of DLC/Vanity shop than having to sell either all or nothing)
@TheAlmaity: Go Ohhh good. The way I understood it would be no longer in the SC2 engine/arcade/whatever. Well I guess since anyone can download a Starter Edition for free they could add Allstars to it, but it would force a bigger download file on everyone. Maybe they could make it so you check what you want to download for your client like: WoL, HoTS and Allstars assets separately even though it's the same client.
Anyway, sounds a lot better now :-)
Making a store for blizzard content in a blizzard mod in a separate game is a good learning and stepping stone for them if they ever decide to make a map-marketplace. The only thing that seems strange is that the content might be available in a too transparent fashion. I mean: if the stuff is built on the sc2 engine then the BAS content will be packaged into those mpq files? And those can be easily opened. But if you can open them and play with the custom models in sc2 arcade games, why would anyone buy them in the first place?
Tricky stuff!
It seems to be good candidate for to lure people to download SCII - Starter Edition and then get them interested about rest of the game. Like that greyed out campaign button.

Nothing terribly new, but thought I'd still share this.
