Rise of Nigma is a large RPG with a mixture of some genres. I take the MMORPG approach for partying, equipment, and character stats. For items, I use a lot of Diablo II's mechanics to itemize. And for abilities, I go for a lot of originality here, but most of it comes from LoL/DotA/MoBA games.
I try to grab the best of what is out there and bring them together. While most of the times putting completely different things together just because they're good ideas for that specific genre, doesn't mean it'll be good when mashed up together. Yeah, you're right! But it's different in this case, because they all have similarities in one way or another. But, let's not get into the specifics!
My focus at the moment is the dual cast system in which allows players to cast two spells at once, rather than just one spell at a time. A player may dual cast by wielding two mage-based weapons. (Dual wielding spellcaster weapons, basically) Also, we are looking to begin work on maps past our initial first map, so we need terrainers.
