    So I want to make a map designed around a real world environment. Very wooded area only a few homes and a single road. First I wanted to hire someone for a few hundred to get the job done, but no luck finding anyone. Suggestions?

    If I do decide to do it myself. Does anyone know how I might overlay a google image so I can trace the features? A way to import the bitmap? Maybe as a very large semi-transparent model?

    Any help would be great. I can provide information with regards to my video gaming company if anyone has concerns about my legitimacy.

    Thanks You can contact me via www.skyunlimited.net

    There is an alternate method of just replacing the decal doodad by changing the dds/tga file so its basically like laying paper onto the terrain.

    When I want your opinion...I'll give it to you!

    @Argutaris: Go

    I'm going to worry about terrain first, then concentrate on the models. Just some generic houses, trailers, .etc

    What he said- it should be a fairly easy job if you don't plan on needing custom artwork. I've never done a texture import like this before, but you should be able to import it and then replace the default ground texture with your image. I'm not entirely sure on the specifics.

    If ya'll know of someone that can pull it off let me know. I'm slowly learning, but would rather pay someone and invest my time doing something else.
