    Weekly Terraining Exercise #115

Another monday means another WTE. Welcome back folks!

So, last week's theme was to create a Terran settlement. In that thread I already hinted to this week's follow-up, which is where we'll infest the Terran settlements created last week. This week's theme is thus to create an "Infested Settlement". My initial plan was to post numbers linking to random terrains from last week and to let people Zergify the terrain their picked number linked to, but since so few people actually uploaded their map, we'll go with a different simpler plan. If you participated in last week's WTE, then simply take your own terrain and make it look like the Zerg came in and infested the whole joint. If you didn't participate in last week's WTE, pick a number and infest the terrain attached to the linked post.

    Numbers: One, two, three...

I hope to see a lot of sliming going around. Good luck, have fun!

Thanks for the feedback ;) maybe a little more explanation would be nice ^^

Ahaha! Fair enough. Ok, my critique: picture 2, the webbing for an example is jutting out into the middle of no-where. Screen 3 has a bit of terrain object clipping which could be easily sorted. I feel like you could make more use of webbing etc. especially on the corners of buildings.

Love the map though overall, 'Good effort' ;)

Take care with where you tread...

Overall pretty decent but you could stand to twerk the fog settings little bit to make the background mountains less blatant and make the shadows a tad more... lively.

    My attempt.

I totally agree, with one exception: there is also a scientist standing in the middle of all this infestation, calmly. And perfectly unharmed and ignored by the infested marines around him.

    EDIT: NOPE NEVER MIND>

Is the terrain forum RIP for some reason I do not know about?

    #11 Feb 21, 2013 at 22:03 UTC - 0 likes

Not dead, just asleep. I was a couple of days late uploading a new one and when I was reminded I figured I'd let it slide for now and wait until monday for a fresher start. I'm not too fuzzed with punctuality at this point in time - will be moreso when HOTS launches.

Was more the general terrain forum inactivity. Then again all forums have phases depending on what stage people are at with their maps.

The inactivity might also be that people have holidays and such these weeks
