Great amount of detail. Not sure if I like the lightning though.

Is it for a map you're working on, or is it just for showcase?

I actually do lik the lightning. Really great atmosphere.

Only thing that bothers me is those giant rocks...they dont really fit the alien theme too well.

It's just for the showcase. I am making it to train my terraining skills :)

WHAAAT??!?! How can you even say that? :3 Also, where do I find a planet that has life on it but no rocks? Okay maybe I overkilled it with that many, but still :)

Edit: Updated the thread with a new map I just made :) and I also put download links for them :)

Your stuff is alright, but your style is a bit... chaotic. It still seems a bit too obvious to me that you're just scrolling through the doodad lists, going "ooh, this one's nice" and jotting down 50 of those. You might want to do some more planning. I did really like your spore bog though, that's an interesting theme you've got going there. I reckon the rocks can work, but you need something to back them up, not just use them as backdrop. Either a mountainous area or a less-swampy bog.

My tip is to use doodads scarcely and effectively (Not meaning 1 or 2).. but you're definitely slapping too many doodads down. I can't even figure out what's going on...

Also, on a side note to everyone who is saying this. It's LIGHTING not LIGHTNING. That is all ;)

Your style in "Swamp Bog" is suspiciously similar to mine in my RPG...

That's pretty simliar to how I do my terrains I scroll down the list, find pretties, put em out of the map bounds, and then find them again when I need them

Same here. However, there's a difference between looking for ideas in the doodad palette and just scrolling through it and plumping down ten of every doodad that looks like it would fit. No offense meant to ThePhail, but it's something I often notice in people new to terraining; they have no real plan and just throw down what seems to be good. This works to an extend, but do it too much and you just get a chaotic look where there's 10-12 doodads that you'll find in every area of the map.

Lol, I put tons of deadmans port ground mix because I was running out of ideas for my map. It's meant to be an abandoned city, which means no fires.

I agree with Mozared, it is a little busy, it's something I'm guilty of too.

Wow. all pictures are brilliant. very nice editing and clout scheming. Which one software did u use dear to edit such type of pictures. I always use paint.net but never have such type of color scheme. You did it brilliantly. I'm surprised.

First off, Welcome to SC2Mapster! :D I am Cybrok, a pretty well known advanced data editor here, so if you have a question about anything related to the data editor just PM me.

The terrain you did was amazing, if you don't mind, can I borrow you for some touching up on the terrain of my map? :)
